The Doom Patrol is pretty cool. I've tried following the modern re-launches of the team, but I would guess that nothing really compares to that original run.
I have to confess that what draws me in to The Doom Patrol is Beast Boy, Gar Logan, and his Teen Titans connection. One of my favorite stories was when The New Teen Titans and Gar found Cliff and settled General Zahl's hash. I want to say that was New Teen Titans 14 and 15. The Brotherhood of Evil was a very cool group of rogues for the Titans. Can't go wrong with a gorilla - Monsieur Mallah.
Doctor Doom is such a cool villain. He's right up there with Luthor as an all-purpose rogue, not really confined to a single hero. It was cool to see him face off against Spider-Man and Superman in their second team-up.

Yes! Doom versus Doom! Great concept!
And this does kind of ask for a follow-up in which the Doom Patrol fight to break free from Victor's grasp... at least, if you can find the cover art to make that happen.

Actually, this issue is the follow up - Doom Battled the Doom Patrol once before on STF...
Captain Klutz is slated for an appearance... not familiar with Girl Genius though.
This is great! Next could be Superman leaving Superboy and Supergirl for a NEW Superman family, including Supergoof, Super-Skrull, and Super-Grover! YEAH!
This could be part one of a crossover where the Teen Titans (led by Beast Boy) have to rescue the DP from Latveria's "favorite" monarch!
They just showed up in Justice League this week, with the female Metamorpho in tow. I just have a bad feeling that, since they've already mangled one version of the DP in the New 52, this one will get messed up, too.
The single good thing the New 52 has managed to handle was the reboot of the Metal Men. Everything else has pretty much turned to crap.
This is another example of why I wish each issue were real. This is the sort of comic that would have had me rushing to the comic store.
I would love to see Doom's Patrol 4.
I wonder how Doom would remake the more esoteric members of the DP.
