Batman and Giant Man (Retro)
I really got a kick out of the Essential Giant Man volume that Marvel released a few years back. I had read most of the early adventures of Spider-Man, The Hulk, the FF, X-Men and Avengers but these were some classic stories that I had never gotten around to checking out. It was fun seeing Pym go from scientist to Ant-Man to Giant Man and be joined by his sweetheart, Janet Van Dyne. The stories are fast paced and the Kirby artwork of course is great. Marvel has done some work rehabilitating Hank Pym's image in recent years, unfortunately they felt they had to kill of Janet for his character growth. I am hoping that they will both be part of an Avengers movie sequel so if that happens, maybe Marvel will be encouraged to find a way to bring her back and finally let that couple have some happiness.

That same Essential Ant-Man book is one of my personal faves, too.
I really love this cover. Thank you!
Still wanna see how bizarre a Batman-A Distant Soil mash up would look...
Excellent. You should do a Silver Age Justice League and Avengers.
Dave sez,
I LOVE these retro covers! Brilliant!
I read somewhere that Nathan Fillion and Eva Longoria were being considered for Hank and Jan - GENIUS! That would totally rock! Even if they only make a brief cameo - that would be enough for an Ant-Man film and Avengers 2!
Im usually against ressurecting characters, but if Marvel could go on and bring back Janet, Rita, Bill Foster and Scott Lang, they could end up with a very nice "Ant-Family" with Hank as Giant Man, Wasp, female Yellowjacket, Bill as Goliath (and maybye Tom as somebody else), Stature, Scott as Ant-Man and Eric O'Grady as G.I.Ant-Man, then they could send them do to some exploring in old-school SF/Challengers Of The Unknow style. Having team where everybody have the same power but wildly different personalities would be refreshing.
Also, have you been thinking about teaming up Batman with X-23 or Darkwing Duck?
Darkwing is too cartoony looking and wouldn't work. X-23, I'm not a real fan of so never considered it.
Dave sez,
Awwww, bummer about Darkwing Duck...
If it is any consolation, I did do a duck related cover recently for the follow-up to B&B...
wheres mon post?
