I mentioned yesterday that I had a Darth Vader poster in my room growing up. Well, on the other wall was Clint Eastwood as Pale Rider. Clint is one of my favorite actors ever, and he is still knocking it out of the park in front of or behind the camera. I recently watched most of the Dirty Harry flicks again and they just don't make action stars like that anymore. I think I read that Eastwood said that his amazing performance in Gran Torino would be his final role, but I hope he changes his mind. I have always wanted to see Eastwood play Bruce Wayne in a movie version of Batman Beyond!

I don't know that it's ever been confirmed or not, but I've read in at least two or three different places over the years that Eastwood had been approached about the possibility of playing Two-Face is the Adam West "Batman" series had gone on for a fourth season. The TV version of the character would reportedly have been different - a defaced TV personality as opposed to a former DA - but it still might have made for an interesting episode.
That would have been cool! there's a lost episode I'd love to see!

Eastwood was approached with the role of the cowboy 'Shame' on the 60s TV series, which reflected the spaghetti westerns he was famous for at the time. The role eventually went Cliff Robertson.
I believe the Two Face depicted in the 1940s Batman Newspaper Comic Strip was an actor who was defaced by a jealous co-worker. So it could have been a take on that version.
Rumor had it Two Face was scrapped after the 1950 stories for being too scary? He only made 2 Silver Age appearances, and one was a reprint (with some art alterations that was less graphic or something), the other wasn't even Harvey Dent but someone else taking his identity.
Clint incidentally was also my favorite action star from the 60s through the 80s. Shame was my favorite original Batman TV villain. Hard to imagine Clint in that role. I also immediately thought of Clint as older Bruce Wayne upon reading the Dark Knight Returns back in the day.
