Batman and Darth Vader

I was 8 when the first Star Wars came out so I was blown away - I think the best special effects I had seen up to that point were from a Herbie the Love Bug movie.  Darth Vader was incredibly cool to me, I remember having a big Vader poster on the door to my bedroom for years.  I was intrigued by the idea of examining his early years in the prequels but a combination of bad writing and casting choices squandered most of that potential unfortunately.  I never needed to hear a young Darth Vader saying "Yippee!" or watch a pouty teen Vader try to woo a woman by comparing her to sand.

I'll be honest, notwithstanding all the elements you mentioned which made episodes 1 - 111 disasters, when The Matrix came out a year earlier, it already blew anything George Lucas had prepared out of the water. The face of science fantasy film completely changed with the first Matrix film, just like it did with Star Wars. Which leads to my ultimate request: Batman & Neo/Trinity/Morbius!!!!

With all due respect, Ross, it wasn't a pouty teen Vader wooing Amidala. It was a pouty teen Anakin Skywalker! As big and undeniable a difference as apples and oranges.

...and no one wept, because no one cared...and life went on.
