I'm first in line for once? Yay, me!
First off, let me just say that I dig the title. :-)
Secondly; these two might be initially reluctant to work together, given their different ethical upbringings. But, over the course of working together, they would gradually develop mutual grudging respect, I'm sure.
Last, but not least? I could see Doc being brought to the GFFA as the result of testing some early Cold War-era spacecraft for NASA. What with his being a literal rocket scientist (among other things). And, if I recall correctly, DC's version of him even had him meeting some extra-dimensionals prior to meeting his own grandson!
