Jack Kirby mastered the art of action in comics and his design sense was an inspiration to all. Murphy Anderson made everything look sleek and lavish, especially when he was on full art chores, but still quite evident when he served only as inker. I was glad to combine their two styles here.

Ten spot on the Captain, in four rounds or less. ;)
I always wondered what Capt. Comet kept in that right-hip holster. Urban legend has it that it was the DCU equivalent of the Ultimate Nullifier!* But, your answer to that question is just as brilliantly imaginative. Who's the girl, though? Some one-shot damsel in distress from the original story?
*Given to him, in gratitude, by some alien race he'd helped out during his post-Golden Age space travels. Thereby proving he was someone they could trust to keep the weapon safe without ever succumbing to the temptation of using it.
With that red hair who's to say it isn't pepper Potts?
That'd be my first guess, too. It could also be Ora, daughter of Commander Artho (leader of the Knights of the Galaxy from a pre-LSH future Earth). Or even the daughter of swashbuckling time travelers Ace Buckley...
...and Toni Stark!
