Supergirl and Morbius

The Supergirl movie isn't far off, but there doesn't seem  like there is a lot of excitement for it.  Seeing Jason Mamoa as Lobo should be fun.  The trailers to me have been Just OK - The movie looks fine, just nothing that I feel that I need to run out and see. Hopefully the film will defy expectations and become a critical and commercial hit.

MORBIUS: "... now you will share my CURSE!"

SUPERGIRL: (*shrieks as she feels herself transforming into Jared Leto*)

I don’t have high hopes

The trailers have also made me feel ambivalent, at best. Because what little they've shown as Kara Zor-El as Linda Danvers make her too much like how the character was depicted in the comics just before she became a born-again "Earth Angel." In short? Too much like Sean Penn's Spiccoli from FAST TIMES AT RIDGEMONT HIGH (which is not entirely a good thing).

As for Morbius' word balloon on today's cover? Even in the Ross-verse that doesn't make sense! Morby was called "The Living Vampire" for a reason. He didn't get vampirized supernaturally. His literally bloodthirsty condition was the result of radical experiments in biochemistry and genetic engineering! So, the only way he might be able to pass on his "curse" to the Girl of Steel is if he imbibed from someone who was supernatural. Like, say, the Aztec warrior-princess Tlaca (presumably named for the Aztec god of thunder)?

Perhaps he tried to use red kryptonite as part of a cure, but it instead just made his condition transferrable to Kryptonians!
