The Avengers: Doomsday teaser featuring Thor presented a somber and determined Thunder God. Chris Hemsworth has decent comedic chops, but I think Marvel realized that they had been leaning too far in that direction with the character. It will be good to see a more serious take returning for the Odinson.

When you're right, you're right, Ross. It's why I (unapologetically) refer to the MCU's last vehicle for him as "Thor: Love & Blunder"!
In answer to Plas' question, though? Mjolnir's magical prerequesite for being handled might allow it to sense an individual's underlying worth. Like in "Avengers: End Game," when Thor spotted Cap lifting the uru hammer and muttered "I knew it!" The earlier "failure" to lift it had obviously been Cap not wanting to be a show-off and Mjolnir had simply gone along with that humility.
That same humility probably exists within Patrick "Eel" O'Brian. The monk who tended his injuries, at the religious retreat called Resthaven, sensed it, all those years ago. So, why would an uru hammer from Asgard be incapable of doing the same?
Accepting that the MCU characters aren't exactly the same people as their comic-book counterparts, I thought they hit exactly the right balance of comedy versus seriousness with Hemsworth's Thor in Ragnarok- someone who'd discovered his sense of humor about the absurdities in his own life, but still took things seriously deep down. Since then, they've been leaning too far toward the comedy with the character.
PLOT TWIST: It's actually "Woozy" Winks who ends up being worthy of Thor's hammer. ;)
@ my namesake: he doesn't need it. He's literally got Mother Nature on his side, already!
Exactly the reason why the whole comic book/movie screen disparity is so unacceptable!
Chris hearing Marvel wanted him back....after all this time?? Thanks anyway. Oh, Cap & Iron Man are back too? What about Hawkeye Hulk and Widow? Oh, we're playing with new timelines!?! Interesting.
I could just see Chris thinking about all the new things he has been doing.
Now they can bring in the Squadron as well....Does every timeline with Doom mean Reed is there too?
We've seen Plas shape shift a lot. For the hammer?? What If the hammer doesn't see him as human and lets him help Thor? Or... Plas holds Thor's hand and directs the action that way?? Stretching as needed!
Reviving an old request: Thor meets Wayne Campbell & Garth Algar.
That's a bit of a stretch, in itself. ;-)
"He's not worthy! He's not worthy! He's not worthy!" ;-)
Great pairing. Wouldn’t have thought they’d mesh, but it looks good! As for future pairings… I have a few ideas. How about Ice and Firebird. Ravager vs Elektra and Daken vs Deathstroke or Nightwing. Keep the great work.
