Yoda Vs. Thanos

We all loved Yoda in the original Star Wars trilogy at the end of his career as a wise mentor.  It was great to see him in his prime in the prequel trilogy.  Baby Yoda on The Mandalorian was a smash hit. Let's hope, though, that Disney can resist the urge now to give audiences Teen Yoda in an angsty drama on the CW or something  - that may be a bridge too far.

Wiser, perhaps. Flawless? Definitely not. I remember how (in SW3: ROTS) Obi-wan told Anakin that only the Sith dealt in absolutes. Yet, what does Yoda do in SW5:TESB? Instead of trying to train the first of a new generation of Jedi, he starts trying to indoctrinate Luke in the mind-set of the Old School!

"Try not. Do...or do not! There is no 'try.' "

That sounds absolutely dogmatic to me.

@Carycomic: what else can you expect from a shriveled-up, 800-year old little hypocrite?

Uh... Ross? "Baby Yoda" isn't actually Yoda, remember? That's Grogu, another member of his species entirely.

And in the prequel trilogy, Yoda's also old; just not as much as in the main trilogy. If you want see him in his prime, he's a recurring character on Young Jedi Adventures.

As for this particular encounter, regardless of Yoda's age (and offhand I'd say it's some time before YJA), only the Infinity Gauntlet is going to save Thanos from getting his butt handed to him.

Yes I'm well aware, Bob, I'm talking about the Yoda species as a whole

And technically, little Grogu is already way past his teen years, he's said to be in his fifties. He just still appears as a baby because his race ages so incredibly slowly. What would be the corresponding age to what we would consider teenage years? I guess that's up for speculation.

Yoda running a cafeteria or small restaurant: "Stew or stew not! There is no "fry"."

Carycomic said...

Bill Maher: "Not heard of stew-fried rice, have you?"

LOL! Good point. :-)

Or, better yet, a sequel to this cover where Thanos and Yoda are double-teaming Mr. Universe!
