Giant robots wrapped in a science-based mystery is just the type of situation that would get these two together. I'd love to see them share an adventure.

Hmmm! This would appear to be a sequel to STF #3343 (from 6/8/2021). And it would appear that Adam's daughter was sold, by one of Jabba's people, to the Ssi-Ruuk (who've apparently enteched her mind into one of their battlefield "think-tanks"). The only remaining questions are: how do they get her out? And how did these two get to the GFFA from their respective space/time continua in the first place?
My first impulse would be to say: "One of those ferschlugginer time ripples that have become so over-abundant thanks to the on-going war between Kang and the Time Trapper." But, in Adam's case, I'd have to rephrase that answer and guess...a zeta beam magically modified by his brother Stephen. ;-D
While Magnus probably fell through an Infinity Gate archaeologically unearthed
in 41st-century North Am.
The Kang/Time Trapper war is indeed often working in the background. We'll see it come to the forefront one of these days.
Maybe Magnus could meet Rosie of Hanna-Barbera Beyond’s The Jetsons.
