Time for a Golden Age meeting of the ocean's greatest heroes!
Aquaman and Namor have a bit of history on this blog. They last met with the Defenders in STF #3927, they were battling Mer-Mutates in STF #2270, tried to avert war in Issue #1105, faced the sea's wrath back in Issue #751 and starred in my very first STF two-parter in Issue #3 and Issue #4.

In DC's Silver Age, Atlantis was already split between Poseidonis and Tritonis. But, here on Earth-STF, Poseidonis represents Aquaman's people, and the other half of Atlantis is the eponymous capital city from antedeluvian times. Even if I'm wrong, though; great blending of the original art work, Ross! :-)
Funny how you had so many 2 parters for these two. Great cover here.
Oh,oh,oh it's B O N O M O!! Ross, you did Deadpool & Batman long ago!! Now..
for the maim event...: Deadpool and Red Hood (Jason)!! interested??
Where is that picture of Namor from?
My head-canon is simple: DC Atlanteans worship the Greek god Poseidon, and Marvel Atlanteans worship the Roman god Neptune. It's a religious based schism. It's quite very easily shown in their respective publication histories. Greek gods are more prominent in DC, mainly because of Wonder Woman. There are exceptions like Ares, but Marvel's Ares can simply be called his Roman name, Mars. The Marvel hero is the Roman Hercules, while the DC demigod who r*ped Hippolyta is the Greek Heracles. Need further evidence? Marvel has the Roman god of the underworld, Pluto, as a villain, DC has the Greek god Hades. Even Namor's catchphrase, "Imperius Rex" is Latin, the language of the Romans!!!

I forgot to mention: DC's Captain Marvel's (or Captain Thunder, my preferred name in a shared universe) magic word, SHAZAM, used both Greek and Roman deities, so they are both pantheons exist in the DC Universe already, so why not also in Marvel or a shared universe?
Perhaps they already are (on the canonical Earth-Amalgam).
So, Ross, this is a little off topic, but completely pertinent to this site.... I just read the Captain America/Wonder Woman team-up in the Deadpool/Batman comic. This is only my opinion, but I feel certain that story was greatly influenced by your series of Cap/Wonder Woman covers. The story doesn't come right out and say that Steve and Diana became life partners, but it's all clearly there between the lines....
I like the solution that "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" gave us: Arthur rules Atlantis, while Namor rules Talokan.
Sonofjack, that's interesting, I haven't checked out the crossovers yet, waiting for them yo be collected. If they got any influence from my WW/Cap covers, I'd be honored - but to be fair it was DC and Marvel that influenced me to make those first!
That has a pleasant, full-circle charm, don't you think?
Long black hair and beard aside, Mamoa's Aquaman was still more comic faithful than the MCU Namor.
Diana says Your name is Steve? Charmed i'm sure.
Couldn't tell you, pro or con. No comic shops anymore in my neck of the woods! :-(
Given this startling info (courtesy of Sonofjack), I have a sudden idea for a request on behalf of Bob Greenwade and myself. Batman and Deadpool vs. Foxbat!*
*From the League of Champions rpg Universe.
P.S. @ Bob---I know that "League of..." was tacked on _after_ Hero Comics and Heroic Games went their separate ways. But, I use it to differentiate them from Marvel's original Champions (purely for my own convenience).
How about Mr. Universe vs. The Death-dealer From The Dead Sea?
Might there be an underwater portal linking the two kingdoms?
