You rarely see Namor intimidated by heroes of the surface world, but I think that working alongside The Spectre might just be an exception to that rule. It would be interesting to see how these big personalities clash.

It might be even more interesting if we knew which monarch that skeleton belonged to. Kaamu the Great (last king of antediluvian Atlantis)? Kull of Valusia (some of whose aristocrats considered Atlantis to be a podunk colony)? Or DC's version of Atlas (founder of Atlantis according to Greco-Roman mythology)?
I'd go with the DC Atlas for better compatibility with the Spectre's inclusion. Although, it's still a mystery why a Spirit of Vengeance would be out to avenge a death caused over ten millenia ago by the ultimate of natural causes (a world-wide flood).
If it's an ancient king of Atlantis then surely the Spectre will be whisking Arthur Curry real soon now...?
I'd really like to see these royal rivals matched up again. Uneasy lies the crown, especially when it's balanced on two heads...
Jim Aparo!! Namor might not know all that will be aimed at him. Spectre may be waiting to avenge others who may be killed in the fall out of attacks on Namor by those with special reasons of their own.
stunning, just stunning !
i would love to read this one, ( internal Art by Aparo & Bill Everett )
two of my favourite old time characters…. drawn by the best.
Speaking of Bill Everett...Dear Ross: how about Amazing Man (Golden Age Centaur Comics) meets Amazing Man (DC/JSA)?
Ah, this would have been a great Defenders story Ross. After some of the rough encounters Namor has had with other mystics, the combo of the Sub-Mariner crossing paths with The Spectre looks like a great recipe for grim ghoulish action!
Maybe they discover they shop at the same green underwear store.
"Briefs R Us"? ;-)
Spectre is indeed someone who would have Namor making an emergency purchase at "Briefs R Us."
You should have the Spectre (from the toon Brave & The Bold) try to avenge Thundarr's world with Ariel, Ookla & Gemini along for the ride! 2000 years later Earth is reborn!
I second that emotion! :-)
