Look, I have the same questions about how Kamandi was able to get the upper hand here that Chronos has. But that's just what would have made me pick this issue up off of the shelves - just to see what shenanigans that Kang is up to this time around.

What do you want to bet that Kang stole a duplicate of the original Super-soldier Serum from Per Degaton and used it on Kamandi?
Maybe, but Kang may have stacked the deck. He knows the Marvel Multiverse far better than Chronos does. These "Avengers" could have been culled from Earth-616 during the annual Halloween Parade in Rutland VT... and are really just costumed float riders.
That would really be Darth Sidious of him!
How about Kamandi & the Zoo Crew.
I don't know much about Kamandi (post apocalyptic stuff doesn't do much for me), but this is an interesting concept. If only because of Kang's scheming. On that note: I could see an Isis and Thor Team-Up. Since DC very briefly had an Isis comic.
Maybe the Avengers threw the game for some reason?
Seems odd that Kang's champion is from DC world and Chronos's champions are from Marvel world. Reminds me of Avengers/JLA miniseries.
Kamandi actually refused to fight, but he carries future germs that made the Avengers sick.
Discourtesy of the Wundagorian New Man called Bubonicus, perhaps?
My one and only complaint (and it's a very small one): I would've preferred the Time Trapper over Chronos.
@Glenn I was thinking about that too, shouldn't it be the other way around? Why are they betting on each other's guys instead of their own?
Any Avenger could be defeated but Thor. Something fishy in Denmark would be just the beginning.
The 1st thing that entered my mind is that 5'8" 159 lb. Kamandi can lift up 6"6" 640 lb. Thor?
I'll bet Kang cheated and this Kamandi is actually a stolen SHIELD LMD!
