The Question Vs. The Answer

This is a match up that I have gotten a few different requests for.  I have to admit that I had forgotten about The Answer, he never really rose to the top of Spider-Man's rogues gallery.  Get a kick out of that costume, it just screams the 80's.  I have to believe that metallic thigh high boots would be tough to move around in.

Yes-yes-YES!!! :-D

Thank you, Ross. It seems like forever ago that I requested this pairing. But, you have finally justified my faith in the virtue of being generically patient.

As for the difficulty of moving around in thigh-high boots? Given that the Answer's super-power is to spontaneously develop whatever ability he needs to counter some otherwise insurmountable obstacle, I'd say he's probably either using telekinetic levitation or generating anti-gravitons.

You mean The Answer is blowing in the wind? What does he do when he goes against The Taskmaster? That IS the Question!

i wonder whether he's an ancestor of Nemesis Kid? Matching him against the latter's archfoe the LSH's Karate kid (who spend some time in [what was then] the present day, after all...) could be interesting.

Good question, Simreeve. But, that, in turn, raises an even more interesting question. Could Element Lad's people have been descended from Metamorpho via Space Ranger's wife (nee Myra Mason II)?

oh yEah, for those who don't know, the Question is back in lois lane.

Darn, someone beat me to the Dylan reference. Still, I kind of remember The Question but was not familiar with The Answer at all.

Maybe the Question will challenge the Answer to a riddle contest.

As the most recent person to post this request, I'm very happy to see t his match-up. The names just scream for it; on Earth-STF, these two would have to be arch-foes.

Once Spider-Man eventually returns to the MCU (given this guy's connections to HYDRA, or in this case the organization's remnants), I think that the Answer would be a good choice of villain. The costume designer probably should rethink those boots, of course.

There's always the new way to look at things. Jeopardy puts the answer in the form of the question and the question is the answer. See how the two of them work that situation out.

They could have a Face Off. ;)

@my namesake: Imagine what complications might ensue if a Space Phantom from Limbo alternatly impersonated both the Question and the Answer!

Ross would have to entitle it..."Double Jeopardy."

or, "final jeopardy".

Wow, such a cool cover and great comments. Here's one I don't think you've done Ross. How about Pennywise the clown vs Pennyworth the butler.

Carycomic said...

Pretty good, Isaac. :-)

That way, Ross could entitle it... "In For A Penny."

Unless, of course, he's saving that for an Inspector Gadget team-up with "Inch High, Private Eye" and "Agent Tom of T.H.U.M.B." ?

Only if they're rescuing the Pound Puppies! :-)

You mean, to keep them from being turned into M.A.D. dogs?

Wow, that's ruff! ;-)

Carycomic said...

Then, you better get "reddy."' Cuz, here they come!

Sorry! There's just no resisting some Temptations. ;-D

I have ALWAYS wanted to see this crossover happen. Wordplay-wise, it's a no-brainer.

Only a hypothetical numbskull would fail to realize that. ;-)

OOOPS! I thought this was STF #2712. I guess that makes _me_ the hypothetical numbskull.
