Iron Man and Aquaman in: "Trouble with the Double!"

Rumors persist that Robert Downey Jr. is not quite done with the role of Iron Man after all.  There has been speculation that he will either appear as an AI character or at least a voice inside of a suit of armor, mentoring Riri Williams or whoever the next Iron Man will be.  I realize that the impermanence of death is a staple of comics, but I think it is too soon for this, and I'd think that RDJ wouldn't want to dilute the character's sacrifice that way.  At this point, the one place I wouldn't mind his return is to voice Tony Stark in the What If? animated series.

Aquaman and Iron Man first met in STF #471... and met again in STF #2525...

Robert would probably be too expensive for an animated series. Voice impersonations are around for that very reason. Then again, Disney could keep him around for other projects as well and make the voices part of the contract.

Since Aquaman 2 was a given at the box office Billion dollar mark, the only surprise is why there no video game on him (that I know of).

Ross, the idea of Tony wearing his I.M. suit inside the bigger suit is a bit of a stretch don't you think?

Not to a super genius! Now Red hood pulling off his mask to reveal another mask underneath it is a different thing...

Tobor: We already know that SLJ and Michael Douglas will be reprising their roles on What If...?, so why not RDJ?

Ross: I think Tim Drake actually pulled that stunt once, on his fellow Teen Titans.

It was while he was with Young Justice. They were playing 'Truth or Dare'...

The A.I. in Riri's suit is a hologram, with voice, of Tony in the comics. Having RJD as the suit's voice, ala the previous Jarvis and Friday, which was recorded before Endgame, wouldn't be that weird. And it could be character moment -- Riri would love to replace it voice with one less painful to remember but doesn't know how.

Thanks for the reminder, Simreeve.

Hm... Young Justice and Young Avengers... Ross?

@det_Tobor: There's probably a limit to how much heavy undersea pressure the regular suit of armor can take. So, he uses the JIM-style one for this specialized case. Wearing only his "shellhead" mask inside the transparent helmet so as to preserve his secret identity from hostile, anti-surface dweller Atlanteans like Warlord Krang.

@Ross: uh-oh! Looks like I was right. The Construct made it to the Marvel Multiverse in STF #2702. And, he's beginning "his" campaign of conquest with the local version of Poseidonis!
