With each movie appearance, the effects to create The Hulk keep improving. I just watched Thor: Ragnarok again, and was really impressed with the motion capture work, he looked great. That said, while I like that Mark Ruffalo's facial expressions can be used to create a more emotive Hulk, I happen to like the design from the Edward Norton-starring Incredible Hulk a little better. Yes, the CGI isn't nearly as polished as the new movies, but the appearance of The Hulk looked just like a Sal Buscema comic illustration to me. Buscema art was featured on many of my favorite Hulk stories growing up, so that really worked for me and I wish they had stayed closer to that look.

Respectfully, I must beg to differ with you. I liked the Norton The Incredible Hulk "creature"; but I like the motion capture of the Ruffalo Hulk more. The Incredible Hulk is probably one of my favorite Marvel films. I really hope that one day they come back around for a sequel - with The Leader and Doc Sampson.
Although I like Mark Ruffalo as an actor, he has never been a good Bruce Banner, in my opinion. Both Norton and Bana looked and acted more like Banner.
Or at least more like Bill Bixby.
I enjoyed the Hulk in Thor: Ragnarok and look forward to seeing him in Infinity War

I love these one-artist covers, Ross. Seeing Sergio Aragones in particular makes me smile. I remember his work not only from Mad magazine, but also from the similarly marginal -- albeit, in this case, animated -- moments in Dick Clark's TV's Bloopers and Practical Jokes.
I, too, really liked The Incredible Hulk; and, like AirDave, I'd love to see another solo Hulk movie with the Leader and Doc Sampson (or, at least, I'd like to see a live-action Doc).
But I don't quite think that any of the actors to play Banner have really captured the comic-book versions (mainstream or Ultimate). Bana came closest, but I keep thinking that someone like Dennis Christopher would be ideal.

Your the only other person I have seen recognize that the Hulk in the Norton movie looked like Buscema's artwork. All my friends I said that too just didn't get my reference. Sadly I don't think any of them knew what I was comparing it too. Buscema was one of the best!

@Dave and Bob: What many don't realise is that Doc Sampson already appeared in the MCU in The Incredible Hulk (2008), played by Modern Family's Ty Burrell.

They should use CGI of Ah-nuld wearing a green wig when they want to simulate Lennie _after_ his gamma ray treatments (if and when there's a new Hulk solo sequel).
