Seven Swordsmen

Back in another life, when I went to acting school, I took a fencing class, and it was an absolute blast.  There were a few offensive and defensive moves to learn, and once I had them down, it was easy to choreograph battles.  We would practice in slow motion until we got it perfect and then switch to real time.  Tons of fun!

I just love the rapier wit. Cool cover.

These guys will have no problem carving that turkey, today.

Happy Thanksgiving, Ross!

Great story from your sworded past, Ross. #BadPunNoCookie

Joking aside, being able to choreograph sword battles -- even relatively amateurish ones -- would be a great skill to have in theatre (saying this, naturally, as a theatre guy). I'm actually a little envious of you for that.

This group is one that I'd like to see again in the future, battling some foe in a "Seven Samurai" kind of scenario. I know that'd be a difficult project, though, just for finding appropriate images of the heroes, to say nothing of the villain(s).

(Side note: It's a shame that my hero, Bear Waters, couldn't be a part of this. Then again, you haven't read my novel, so there's no reason for you to think of him.)

Happy Thanksgiving to you too, Cary!

Love this! I’ve actually been noodling a swordish request lately... Any chance of Cerebus and Groo meeting?

I've been wanting to use Cerberus, that might make for a fun combo.

I'm grateful for these daily creations! Thanks, and happy T-bird day to you, Ross!

Kinda missed Lion-O, though. Maybe Winged Victory too. Still, there's only so much space on any given cover...

I was thinking you would have a more Thanksgiving theme cover for today, but I think Cary Comic is right. These people would have no problem cutting up any turkey presented to them. Not even if it was Big Bird. Ha!

You could have added Samurai Jack to this fun group...
Another great original group, Ross...

Hmmm. Enough suggestions here to do a "Survivor" Swords series of covers -- Barbarians (don't forget Conan, Red Sonja, & Thundarr) vs. Samurai vs. Knights (including Swordsman and Silent Knight, and maybe Zorro). Last Survivor of each team goes after Jeff Probst (or Arcade).
