The Flash and Spitfire

The beauty of The Flash's uniform is in its simplicity.  I think that's why the costume  that Ezra Miller will be sporting in Justice League isn't really working for me.  It strikes me as overly complicated, broken down into numerous sections with what looks to be unnecessary wiring criss-crossing all over it.  And of course, no yellow boots, which the Flash TV shows have gotten wrong as well.  I'd rather have seen something sleek like the Spider-Man suit in the Marvel movies.

Yes! What I'm saying! I thought I was the only one that couldn't stand the Justice League film The Flash's costume! The CW The Flash's costume is much better - even without the yellow boots. (It looks too much like Jim Lee's comic book designs - ugh)

Agree completely. It is the same issue I have of the Green Lantern costume from last movie - too busy, too much Image influence.

They did a good job with movie with Spider-Man's outfit (have not seen 3rd reboot, too many for me) but the effort they did with silk screening did a good job.

John Wesley Shipp's costume (as the 1990 CBS Flash) was the most faithful audio-visual representation. As for today's cover? She must be tapping into the Speed Force (like Quicksilver was able to do during the JLA/AVengers mini-series).

I think it's more of a cinematography issue. See http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-HTAlLtCDYP8/UyeGYqWktFI/AAAAAAAAKnI/JJ2cB479rgI/s1600/Live+Action+Flash+TV+Show+Costume.jpg. The gray-level differences between red and yellow stand out too much--all you see are the boots. I suspect that dropping the "huge blob of yellow" also makes the special effects easier (and more realistic) to render.

The thing about it that gets me is that it looks nothing like clothing you'd ever want to *run* in.

At least someone agrees with me that he doesn't get the love behind Cyborg being a Leaguer. He is and will always be a Titan to me.

Ross, with the recent passing of Len Wein, I think you should do a cover with Wolverine and Swamp Thing for tomorrow as a tribute to him.

Great cover as always!

I second that.

Here's a Wolverine/Swamp Thing cover from the archives:

@TJS: True. But neither Grant Gustin or Ezra Miller could ever get a job modelling actual running gear.

And for a more subtle tribute to Len Wein, how about the TV/movie versions of the Human Target and Colossus.
