The Newshounds
Reporter is a common seen occupation in the comics, either through supporting characters, the media commenting on a hero's actions or even the alter ego of the hero themselves. So a team of reporters seems to me like it would lend itself to all kinds of stories. Especially if the team members all had their own secrets to hide.

Damn; seeing this, now I'm sorry there never was a strong enough call for a Brenda Starr / Superman crossover back in the day. Now THAT would have been something!
The one reporter you left out (and the one I would think would have broke the news) is Kolcheck.
Maybe there could be a Kolcheck Lois Lane crossover.
This seems like a idea that would backfire on Peter and Clark, though a good idea for a team.
I was just thinking last night that we haven't seen any ad hoc groups here in a while, and here one is! I saw the name and thought, "Hmmm... Clark Kent, Peter Parker, April O'Neil, and who else?" I feel very happy to have finally guessed one right.
Kermit seems a bit out of place, though, among these more human colleagues. Perhaps if you'd been able to find something with the Muppet Reporter?
On another topic entirely, I'm hoping #1776 features something special for that number (something featuring Captain America, for example -- maybe even a new installment in the Cap/WW romance!).
Kermit the Frog?
Regarding #1776, might I suggest Captain America, Uncle Sam and the Shield....
Bob, Nobody has noticed it yet, but I try to do a full team cover once every 40 issues... so the next one will hit with issue #1810 and so forth if all goes as planned.
Issue #1776 will feature two patriotic characters, one making their STF Debut.
Actually you did mention the 40-issue cycle before. (D'oh!)
Definitely looking forward to #1776!
Ill bet most of the credit for the discovery really belongs to April's Invisible Aunt Scarlet.
You can do Kolchak and Paper Girls. They have enough weirdness in their comic for K. to fit right in. Great cover, Ross.
So is Clark off to join Billy Batson at WHIZ? I can't imagine him joining Jack Ryder.
The newsreader was on the Muppet Show. Kermit was the reporter on Sesame Street. He usually interviewed nursery rhyme characters (or, given that it is a US show, Mother Goose characters).
Reading this while I *should* be finishing a story for tomorrow's paper, *this* reporter thanks you.
Extra thanks for not making snide remarks about the current state of the newspaper industry. We're not what we were but reports of our death yadda, yadda, yadda....
For those who aren't into public domain characters? "Invisible Scarlet O'Neil" was a Golden Age character who fought crime as an investigative reporter (initially with the power of invisibility).
P.S.---I was Anonymous #1.
I was the other anonymous
Really cool. But where is Ben Urich? And of course the previously mentioned Kolchak.
@ my namesake: Maybe he eloped with April's invisible aunt?
Clark Kent is Superman!?!
Fake news!
As a former newshound, I really appreciate the idea behind this cover.
Who's Purgatory Boy? The long-lost son of Hellboy and that Chaos! Comics anti-heroine?
