Han Solo and Star Trek

Filming on the Han Solo film has begun.  I still think it's a tall order to try and recapture Harrison Ford's iconic character with a new actor in the role, but after being so pleasantly surprised with Rogue One, I am willing to keep an open mind.

Kirk probably still has a grudge against Solo after how their partnership ended... and Chewbacca will continue to get involved with The Federation right into the Next Generation...

Ford's Solo will always be a tough act to follow act and that being said, I can't wait to see Alden Ehrenreich's take on the Correlian smuggler.

I can just hear Jim Kirk, now (after Spock first gives Chewie a neck pinch):

"Sorry about the fat lip, Han. But, I'm a lover and a fighter. Not a doctor!"

@Mateus: I've never heard of Alden Ehrenreich. But, I know for certain Chris Pine and Ben Affleck have done pretty good jobs of playing a younger Harrison Ford (as Jack Ryan).

Harrison Ford was also pretty much the definitive Indiana Jones, and equally hard to fill, but I think Sean Patrick Flannery did a great job as young Indy. So, whoever is now playing the younger Han Solo may well be also up to the task.

He's not really a well-known actor. In fact, he was in the film adaptation of Beautiful Creatures and most recently, Hail, Caesar!

In fact, he was one of the actors considered to play Spider-Man in The Amazing Spider-Man.
