The Scarlet Witch and Zatanna in "The Brutes of Brobdingnag!"

While I enjoyed Elizabeth Olsen's performance as Wanda Maximoff in Avengers: Age of Ultron, the character did not see much like the Scarlet Witch to me.  Her powers and appearance were a little too off from her comic book counterpart.  I am optimistic for her second outing in Captain America: Civil War, though.  She will have a costume upgrade and I have read that her powers will be more clearly defined and she will have more interaction with The Vision. I trust the Russo brothers to deliver.

These two heroes crossed paths once before in one of my very first STF covers...

First off: let me say that I agree with you about her AAOU appearance. Kudos on her ability to simulate Wanda's initial anti-Homo sapiens attitude. But, the costume was _definitely_ further proof that Marvel Films is dipping as much into the Ultimates well as they are into the mainstream.

Seoondly: for using SW's Silver Age costume; for making Zatanna's thigh-high boots look more tolerably like knee-high socks; and just for teaming these two lovelies in general, I would like to simply say...

"...Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!" :-D

Plot twist: The "brute" turns out to be a little Brobdingnagian girl who mistook them for very realistic dolls. ^_^

I just (finally) watched A:AoU, and I agree with your assessment of Wanda Maximoff. And of course more interaction with the Vision would be a natural development; theirs is one of the most well-documented romances of the Marvel Universe (right up there with Reed and Sue Richards).

I was also disappointed in Pietro's fate in that film, not to mention a bit confused by the contradiction about him between that film and XM:AoA. (I'm not sure offhand whether the X-Men and Avengers are through the same studio -- which is another source of confusion for me).

They're not, which is the problem: It means that Avengers films can't refer to Pietro or Wanda as mutants, whereas X-men films can't mention their membership in the Avengers...

My friend has a dilemma with his son. Where other parents have to explain that the Easter Bunny or Santa Claus isn't real, he has to explain why there are two different Quicksilvers.
