Groot and Mr. Spock

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 has added started to get rolling, adding in Mantis to join Groot and the rest of the crew on their next adventure. I understand that The Collector will be back as well, but no word yet on who will be the villain of the sequel.  Whatever they decide, I am really looking forward to it, especially if director James Gunn can put together another great soundtrack to go with it!

See this is why I enjoy Super-Team Family - I'm sure the story explains how Spock and Groot - or, more importantly, how the Enterprise crew and the Guardians of the Galaxy come together. Maybe the Guardian of Forever? ;)

I'm one to not want to know too much about a film before it comes out. I like being surprised. So, that paragraph under the cover reads like Vulcan, and I don't understand Vulcan. ;)

i feel it would be cool to see the stranger as the big bad with an infinity gem on his head

I'm hoping Groot and Mantis come together for the sake of giving Little Sequoia a far less complex paternity than he had in the mainstream comics. As for the Chief Bad Guy; how about a time-traveling cyborg named Korvac?*

*If nothing else, he'd certainly allow the 23rd-century Enterprisers to meet the GOTG.

Groot and Spock. For some reason, that makes me think of Ficus the Vegeton, the first officer on the much-missed TV show Quark.

Hey, there's an idea. Groot, Ficus, the Floronic Man, Morlock 2001, and the Jolly Green Giant, fighting crime together as (wait for it)... "Copse".

(BTW, ironically, the Captcha screen just asked me to select all of the pictures with trees.)

Someone else remembers Quark? ^_^

Bob left out Fangorn (Treebeard) the Ent from Tolkien's mythos.

Oh, and add Chlorophyll Kid from the Legion of Substitute Heroes (and the late Plant Lad from "The Super-Stalag of Space!"), and Swamp Thing, maybe Man-Thing as well, and even a reformed (or working for a govt. pardon) Poison Ivy?

Oh, and I forgot to switch back from IBW to KC on this blog last time--stupid "helpful" Google Account! *grrr*

@ Kid Charlegmagne:

They could take on the Evil Tree Men of the Moon from a certain Golden Age Casper TFG cartoon (poetry not intended)!

I'm also looking forward to Guardians II. I always wanted to like Mantis but never really did. She was kind of a Mary Sue character. But, the Marvel movies division seems able to do no wrong. :)

"and Swamp Thing, maybe Man-Thing as well,"

If you include BOTH of those then you really should add their mutual spiritual precursor the Heap (with his model aeroplane fixation), whom I remember from the 1980s' revival of 'Airboy', too.

H'mm, Airboy, and there's another potential team-up for Blackhawk and/or Captain Midnight.

@ Matthew Baugh: you're (justifiably) forgetting the Syfy Channel travesty called "Man-Thing."
