The Truants

I knew this would happen eventually.  Originally, the name of this team I came up with was "The Delinquents".  Little did I realize, a team by that name was already created (a spin-off of Quantum and Woody).  So, I had to go with my back-up idea for a name - not as cool sounding, but it still works, I guess!

Were you deliberately limiting yourself to only one DC character and only one Marvel character there? Otherwise, so MANY possibilities...

Since you used Princess from Battle of the Planets for this cover, I was wondering if you have ever considered using Voltron in one of your team-ups? Maybe a coalition of giant robot characters, that would look cool.

@Simreeve: Yeah, Ross never uses more than one character from the same publisher on a cover. Not since the blog changed its title to "Super-Team Family," anyway.

It's not a strict rule, but at least for this team I went with one character per publisher. Wow, I forgot all about Voltron...

Excellent concept! :-D

Maybe, someday, they'll team-up with (or against) Marvel's Runaways.

Another team idea: Captain Klutz, Awkwardman (of the Inferior Five), Hong Kong Phooey, the Greatest American Hero, and Cannonball (with the last two definitely in the early days of their careers). Call them the Party Crashers. :D

I would buy the heck out of this book.

PS: It just occurred to me last night that, if you take my above suggestion, you could even add Speed Bump (an original character of my own) to the group, if only as a background "Easter egg." ;)

I wonder if Mr. Drake knows that Invincible's civilian name is Mark Grayson?
