Batman and Spider-Man in: "Full Count!"

I can't imagine how such a scene depicted above would come about, but I know that I'd just have to see how this story unfolds.

Batman and Spider-Man have a bit of history on STF: The Lost Issues...

They battled Clayface and Mysterio in STF #3834....
They joined the Wacky Races in STF #3755...
The Spider-Buggy went up against the Bat-Bus in STF #3624...
Batman got his first look at the Spider-Buggy in STF #1628...
The Batman/Spidey movie premiered in STF #1014
Spidey and JJJ joined forces against Batman in STF #937...
They were joined by some Amazing Friends in back in October 2011...
The shared a Golden Age adventure in September 2011...
Spidey wore his black outfit for their  July 2010 meeting...
And here is where they first crossed paths.

TWIST ENDING: Runner at 3rd base, Two-Face, gets caught inexplicably attempting to steal 2nd, due to his irresistible compulsion re: all things "2." Gotham wins. ;)

Makes me think of the classic Strange Sports story when the JLA played the villains because of the machinations of Sportsmaster and Huntress. What a fun story!

I can just see this as the result of a secret chess game between the Grandmaster of the Universe...and Batmite.

Absolutely brilliant, Ross!

Obviously, Kingpin's fixed the game so Gotham City will lose. There's no way he'd want to destroy Manhattan- its continued existence is too lucrative for him. Of course, our heroes will find a way to save BOTH cities.

But not even Kingpin can anticipate a Joker in the deck...

Good one!

Or maybe it's from a version of Convergence where Brainiac had stolen some Marvel-multiverse cities (perhaps only ones where inter-company crossovers had occurred?) as well as DC-multiverse ones?

The scary part is that if Batman is pitching and Kingpin is catching, that means they're playing on the same team.

The weird twist is that, on Spidey's team, the shortstop is Snoopy, and Ambush Bug is left field.

But if Bats has Wonder Woman at first, he's sure to win. Nobody gets to first base with her.

Of course, the radio commentary is provided by Abbott and Costello.

I get the idea though that Batman and Spider-man's team mates are all villains from the other's rogue gallery, so that for example Joker is teamed up with Spider-man. Guessing anyway as i have no idea who the guy with the mask on the left is. Like the idea that it's another Contest of Champions like Marvel had a year or two before their first Secret Wars story arc with Grandmaster and the Collector behind the scenes.

that's the Sportsmaster, golden-age & later DC villain

Father, by the Golden Age Huntress, of Artemis Brooks-Crock. Former member of the Kobra Cult under Lord Naga-naga.

this comes about because of CONVERGENCE mini series. That was its function. That's why Superman of a different Earth is on his current Earth.

And just as lethal with a crossbow as the modern crime-fighting Huntress!

I'm pretty sure the Doctor's on first.

@Simreeve and Det. Tobor: so, basically, this is a Marvel Incursion into a post-Convergence DCU?

There are SO MANY really weird baseball rules that could come into play, and lead to everyone just giving up. And I'd bet even The Sportsmaster doesn't know them all......

Carycomic said...

Or they could just call the game on account of rain (like via Weather Wizard or Storm).

I once mentioned that story to Bob Rozakis. He said, "Oh, you're the one who bought it."

Bob Greenwade said...

You're technically correct, Jason. However, that spoils most of my jokes!

Then, just follow the Doctor's advice. Put the lime in the cocoanut and call him in the morning.

Jason Toddman said...

Spoil your joke? Heavens forbid. I certainly wouldn't want to do that! (shudders) Though lots saner than the Joker, I do still love my jokes.

Which raises an interesting question: if the Riddler were to become a host for the Phoenix Force, would it then become... the E. Nygma Force?
