I'm looking forward to seeing Patrick Stewart as Professor X one more time in Avengers: Doomsday. I just hope he doesn't die in the movie, though. We've already seen Professor X killed off in X:Men 3, X-Men: Days of Future Past, Logan and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The poor guy can't get a break - only Thomas and Martha Wayne have had more on-screen deaths!

"Gingerebro" (lol)! I love it!!!
As for Xavier's vicious cycle of death and rebirth-by-proxy? Maybe it's some warped version of the karmic mojo that Bucky Barnes was retroactively endowed with. That is; coming back from the dead--and staying alive--when his death was once considered immutable (like the deaths of Thomas and Martha Wayne over @ DC).
I'm with Cary with Gingerebro.
But what's afoot here? My guess is that it is the beginnings of yet another STF team, with redheads from across the reaches of the vast and varied STF verse brought together - to form...the Ginger Zingers!
I love these quirky team-ups most people would have never thought of. And this one is hilarious. I especially love the straight-faced, silver-age seriousness style- it makes it so much funnier. I can't help thinking this story somehow ties into the classic Sherlock Holmes story, The Red-Headed League...
Alaric makes a good point! :-)
Have you thought about having Prof X "stand in" for the leader of the Doom Patrol?
