Batman and Dick Tracy previously met in STF #1939 and first appeared together way back in a 2010 B&B Cover.... And this is a pairing that I'd love to see a real world crossover with. Not just a one-shot, either - I think there's potential for an entire mini series here. Just imagine Batman and Tracy's rogues galleries going to war with each other, and our two heroes caught in the middle! I know I would devour a tale like that. Heck, animate it!

Fascinating cover. Completely agree with the pairing, but...considering Tracy's straight personality, it calls back to the Superman Batman teaming. Tracy is basically Superman without the superpowers.
I hadn't really thought of it, but yes, a Dick Tracy/Batman crossover miniseries would be loads of fun, and probably sell like hotcakes. Seeing the likes of Flattop and Pruneface going in against Two-Face and the Joker would be quite a thing (though one should never go in against a clown when death is on the line). Bring in the likes of Influence, Poison Ivy, the Pouch, Mr. Freeze, and such, and there's a lot of potential for a really twisted story!
Of course it's almost certainly a coincidence that "Knight and Day" is the title of the cover on Backward Day! (Don't worry if you've never heard of it; I hadn't either, until it showed up on my Echo Show about ten minutes ago.)
This would have been a perfect inter-company crossover with DC's "First Wave" imprint, Ross. But, in lieu thereof, I'm willing to settle for an Earth-STF sequel to B&B: TLI #81. Preferably featuring Spidey, the Silver Age Robin and Tracy's adopted son, Dick Junior!
Purely tentative title: "Chips Off The Old Block."
@Cary: Actually, a Nightwing/Tracy Jr. cover would make a nice follow-up to this one. Ditto Oracle/Moon Maid. (And I still would love to see Moon Maid -- or, failing that, Honeymoon -- meet the Inhumans!)
It wasn't exactly a crossover, but in 2012 (shortly after Joe Staton became the artist on the Dick Tracy strip) there was a story arc where Broadway Bates, an old Tracy foe who wears a monocle and smokes with a cigarette holder, said that he's glad he isn't troubled by costumed lawmen like his brother Oswald is.
Tracy has met lots of BIG names including Superman. How about a small change - MIGHTY MOUSE???
@3H: But who would they team up against? Catwoman, perhaps. Maybe with her somehow mind-controlling Streaky the Silver Age Super-cat!
@Anony - It could be a first meet. How would Dick react to a talking, flying Mighty Mouse? It might take even him by surprise.
@HHH: I can just imagine Tracy declaring, "Now I've seen everything!" just as Benny the Cab pulls up behind him.
He might say," I know i'm not drunk so ?!?"
MM might pick him up several feet just to convince him.
@Bob Horace and Anon (attys-at-law): Not if it were the animated Dick Tracy from early Sixties Sat. morning TV. That particular series (put out by the same people who syndicated the Mr. Magoo cartoons) included an anthropomorphic bulldog from Scotland Yard. Constable Hemlock Bones!
Yeah but we want the straight up by the book thinking cop who never saw an animated talking animal before.
@Hyram: Not even "Duck Twacy?" Somebody had to act as "technical advisor" on that Warner Brothers pastiche!
