Zorro and Ghost Rider

If you are going to have a color-coded costume be effective in the old West, you really need to complete the look by getting a horse to match.  Sure, it may be tough to find all the right accessories, but once you have everything together, the bad guys will think twice before taking on such a stylish opponent.

I've always been partial to the Theory of The Lone Ranger. He wore blue, rode a white horse - BUT - he wore a MASK (*gasp*) so THAT made him untrustworthy and suspect and maybe a bad guy.

I like this one. I love western setting stories. In my younger days, I read Jonah Hex, Scalphunter, Two Gun Kid, and Matt Slade, among a few others. Even now, I still like a good western show like Gunsmoke, How The West Was Won, Bonanza, The Big Valley, The Lone Ranger, etc. A friend and I have ben creating our own characters for many years now, and a few of them are western. If we had been able to start our own publication, we probably would have had a western line of stories.

I note AirDave's comment about the mask on the Lone Ranger. I watched the first black and white TV episode online. It never showed his face before he got the mask. Unless one was familiar with the actor, he would not be known. But once he got the mask, he faced the camera.

Given that Zorro (especially the Disney version popularized by pre-LIS Guy Williams) never operated outside of California, I will guess the real criminal mastermind is...Dr. Miguelito Loveless!!!

Well, let's face it. His first few confrontations with Jim West always involved trying to get back California for his Mexican grandmother's side of the family! As to this confrontation?

Even Zorro shouldn't bring a sword to a gunfight.

How about Indiana Jones and Doc Savage?

Really weird idea I had a few minutes ago...

How about Milk & Cheese (Dairy Products Gone BAD!) vs. the Man-Eating Cow (from The Tick)?

Thank you Steven!

Man eating Cow? Missed that one!

Indy and Doc have met on 2 covers as teammates on The Bondsmen...

Here's another slightly different idea; Asterix fighting legionnaires as usual, but some new ones have just arrived...from the 31st Century.

Carycomic said...

For that matter, how about Asterix vs. Popeye?*

*I think someone else, here, once suggested that. But, I don't think Ross was able to fit it into his undeniably hectic schedule, back then.

Actually, he did. Check out STF #1798.

@Anonymous: OOPS! You're right.

My bad! :-(

I can't help thinking that there's a little bit of time-travel involved here as well ;)

How about Zorro vs. Sauron (nickname-able "Saur-ro"(?)).XD

Or Sauron (of LOTR) vs. Sauron (the X-men foe).

I love this one. Zorro (the Disney version with Guy Williams) was one of my first heroes (along with Batman and the Lone Ranger), and I've loved all incarnations of the Western Ghost Rider since Marvel came out with their take on him in the late '60s. (I read all the 1950s adventures much later, of course.)

Say that would be a good live action cover...
...the tv Lone Ranger and Zorro with a time displaced Adam West
Batman...
...it would be too cool...
Consider it please Ross...

What Jackel said.* You could even have Batman '66 visiting them courtesy of Professor Nichols!

*Loved your guest appearance on last night's episode of NCIS: NEW ORLEANS, btw. ;-)

@ Capt. Kobold: it was probably discourtesy of Per Degaton.
