Captain America and Hourman
It looks as though Sam Wilson is returning to his Falcon identity in the comics, leading the path clear for Steve Rogers to once again assume the mantle once this huge "Cap as a sleeper Hydra Agent" Secret Empire event is completed. It will be nice to see him restored to the title. I don't mind storylines like this, they happened when I was a kid as well - the difference is, they would only take an issue or two to play out, not 12-18 months, as is the norm these days.

I remember looking forward to seeing Hourman on Legends of Tomorrow, but they just wasted him and the JSA. He did nothing memorable. Hopefully they will revisit the JSA since their version of Vixen was a member and they are time travelers so saying they are dead won't be an excuse.
I was disappointed with entire JSA segment of show and though it was treated better on Smallville.
Regarding Secret Empire the entire results have to be negated and should have been done as an Elsewhere series,
It's all about the sales figures, Ross. Every modern writer (TV, cinematic, or literary) has their own ideas when it comes to working on established characters. They each bring their own preferences and prejudices to the table. Like that one guy, at DC, who wanted to kill off Dick Grayson!
Thank God, the board of directors displayed some refreshingly uncommon sense and put their foot down in unalterable opposition.
As to Hourman a la "Legends of Tomorrow?" Maybe they can bring him back for November Sweeps Weeks. Like, say, a crossover with Supergirl involving Mordru and the LSH chasing each other through time (in three or less parts, of course).
P.S.---Happy 4th of July!!!!!!!
Regarding the Arrowverse JSA, I've stated before (though I don't recall if it was a comment on this blog) that The Flash could also do the group justice (pun not intended, for a change). Bring back John Wesley Shipp as the Flash (Jay Garrick), and cast Alex Kingston (Dinah Drake) as Black Canary, Jamey Sheridan (Robert Queen) as Green Arrow, and J. R. Ramirez (Ted Grant) as Wildcat. A little fudging around could bring in Doctor Mid-Nite (Pieter Cross), Sandman (Wesley Dodds), Mister Terrific (Terry Sloan), and whomever else one could want.
I'd like to see these two team up for real.
Me, too! Like, say, against the Demon Bats of Earth-13.*
*Golden Age Star Man reference.
I remember those suckers! They were in a reprint of Starman's first confrontation with the Mist.
Demon bats of Earth 13? Cool!
