Conan and Warlord

I used to see Warlord as a hodgepodge of other characters.  He seemed to have Conan's outfit,  Green Arrow's beard, Thor's helmet, Jon Carter's weapons, Kazar's creatures from the Savage Land... but somehow it all worked.  I wish I had seen him cross paths with other DC heroes a little more often.

There was a post-COIE issue of GA/BC where Travis Morgan and Oliver Queen met! It was probably done as a homage to Mike Grell. But, it was still a great read.

I'd rather see him as a recurring guest-star on GOTHAM! It could be part of a season-long competition between him, the Court of Owls, and a teenage Arthur Curry (aided by Bruce) for an antendiluvean talisman shaped like a bat. In fact, the entire season could be called...

"Bat-lantis!"

There was an excellent JL animated episode where JLU team (GL, Supergirl, Stargirl & Stripes) met him and his crew helped defeat a plan by Deimos. Included him, his mate Tara (not sure if they ever married but his eye did not wander unlike other bearded one), his daughter Jennifer and the werecat Shakira.

The Warlord and Kaz-Ar would be a good two part cover set.

I'd love to see a team up between Warlord and Ka-Zar- and their feline companions, of course.

I need to read my Showcase Presents: Warlord.

Comics' two most successful barbarian characters together again for the first time!

Warlord definitely has an Edgar Rice Burroughs vibe to it with his land of Skartaris being reminiscent of Burrough's Pellucidar.

Edgar Rice Burrough's Pellucidar was the first hidden world story but there were rumors about a hollow earth no matter if they do not make sense before he wrote it.

There are a few, a very few, comic book heroes that I feel work best in a universe of their own, and should never, ever, cross over with any other heroes. Travis Morgan was one of them -- and though he eventually did cross over with other DC characters, I've never read any of those stories.

@Gary Comic...It was 2 issues of Green Arrow when Mike Grell was writing the series in the late '80's/early '90's. At the time Grell said the basis for the story was the fact they looked alike. In the story the criminals in Seattle that Travis Morgan was Oliver Queen. The part 1 cliffhanger ended with Morgan punching Queen and tell him to stop doing what he was doing while he looked like him. Since the story was told from a "real world" experience Grell left out all of Morgan's fantasy aspects since he was on a journey to see what the country looked like since he had been away. Before his series ended The Warlord crossed into the Legends mini-series and brought the New Gods to his book. It was a disaster. Power Girl also guest stared during the ark because she had come looking for info on her grandfather Arion Lord of Atlantis. This was because of her new origin after Crisis.

@scott Cummins: yeah. The first of (too) many ret-cons for her!

They should just have called her Supergirl's cousin by Nim-El (Jor-El's twin brother) fr0m COIE # 12 onward.

Even though I read that two part crossover with Green Arrow, I agree with Bob Buethe. I think Travis Morgan works best if the world he grew up in does not include flying aliens in red capes and intergalactic police officers with green power rings.

Unfortunately, SoJ, that demarcation ceased to exist once DC decided to "streamline" their multiverse back in the late Eighties. The parallel-Earth with Skartaris had to go someplace! So, it joined New Earth.
