Planet of the Apes Vs. The Terminator
Last summer's movie season held a big surprise for me. I went in looking forward to seeing Green Lantern, Thor, Captain America and The X-Men on the big screen. Little did I know, my favorite hero of the Summer would be Ceasar, from Rise of the Planet of the Apes! That movie wasn't very high on my radar, and then I saw the first trailer and my interest began to grow. I thoroughly enjoyed the film and eagerly await the follow-up, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. Terminator: Salvation didn't quite relaunch the franchise in the way studios were expecting, but it didn't tarnish it so much that I would not want to see future installments. I'm sure we'll see another entry in the series before too long.

This is nice. I was never one to buy a movie tie-in comic, and I remember being quite disappointed initially, when the ONE time a allowed my mother to bring home a comic of her choosing for me, she brought Marvel's Close Encounters of the Third Kind Giant Issue. But it turned out to be a quite good read afterall. Anyone remember that comic?
"Get your stinking paws off of me, you damn dirty robot!"
Seriously, great image.
It's an interesting idea of having two species-ending events going on at the same time.
(You're not the first -- someone once postulated having a Machine Apocalypse taking up the Western Hemisphere, and the Zombie Apocalypse on the Eastern. I've already decided that, if my "Realm Hunter" series continues long enough, just such a world will feature in a future story arc -- probably the third one.)
But it's an outstanding cover, which could tease a very interesting story.
This is full of awesome.
If this were a movie the soundtrack would have to be by Monkey Versus Robot.
Hey, did you have any idea that you would be posting this Terminator-related cover on Alan Turing's 100th birthday? Google has changed their logo into an interactive Turing machine for the occasion.
That Google logo is cool!
I'm reminded of the so-so 90s comic Ape Nation, combining Planet of the Apes and Alien Nation.
But yours is more fun!
Yeah, this would be a cool idea, as it'd be interesting to see who/what was smarter, Ape or Machine? I suppose both would kill each other in the end, but would the Apes fare much better than John Conner and his resistance fighters? Good question, especially since the Apes are supposed to be much stronger than humans. How much would that play into things.
I'm surprised Dark Horse never jumped on this idea since the owned both licenses back in the 90's. Do they still do, or does IDW own one?
Oh and two words, Ape-Terminator.
How funny would it be see a terminator in the image of Dr.Zauis?
