Those talents of Kirby's you cite are precisely what made even outlandish series like Kamandi, The Last Boy on Earth so interesting - at least while he still worked on them. You just never knew what was going to happen next with that series!
That's why the man was justifiably referred to, by Stan Lee, as "The King." When it came to larger-than-life art work, Mr. Kirby was the best there was at what he did.
My personal favorite piece of his: Fantastic Four v.1/#100.
I know I stand alone in this one -- or virtually so, at any rate -- but, for me, the King's creative high point was during his second tenure at DC, with the "4th World" books. I can still remember literally feeling my jaw drop in amazement, as a grade schooler, the day I saw the cover for NEW GODS #1 on the spinner rack at my local drugstore!
^ Agreed. As for this issue, I wish I thought of this team-up, Hellish plot & rhyme. All are well done so nice job there.

I still would love to see Etrigan with Underdog -- either a team-up, or a rap battle.
Maybe that could be one of the back-up tales in STF #5200 (circa July 9).
