I never had much disposable income growing up, so comics that featured multiple stories always appealed to me. This issue would have definitely had me at least flipping through it at the stands.
Blue Beetle last crossed paths with The Hulk in STF 1855...

Astonishing Showcases!! Ted and Bruce are at it again!! Congrats on the numbers!! And Ms Z with S of Satan?? TOBAHS !!
Getting back to the subject at hand? I wonder if they're teaming up against the Mad Men (amped up on stolen Miraclo)?
I still can't believe there was a comic book on the stands with the word "Satan" in big bold letters on the cover back in the '70s and 80s!
Crazy
It's hard to tell whether Ted got Hulk ticked-off at him, or Hulk's just swinging wild. I suspect that, even with the story inside, it'd be hard to tell.
Speaking of partners getting Hulk ticked off, we're way past due for him to "work" with Ambush Bug again.
The way I heard the story? Stan Lee was anticipating a repeat of the post-WWII cycle. Which is to say, another decline in superhero comics with a proportionately resurgent nostalgia for Western and horror comics at the same time!
Even Schwabby-boy ain't that crazy.
I remember how Hellstrom once called Dr. Druid a pointless character.* An evaluation that could just as legitimately be applied to him! And, yet, the admittedly not-always-good doctor is still around. So, maybe, Hellstrom should be just as glad that he's not been relegated to the Limbo of Cancelled Anti-Heroes.
*Pots and kettles...and all that jazz.
More likely, someone (like, say, the Chameleon) impersonated Ted Kord attacking the Hulk, as the Blue Beetle, in order to distract the authorities from something bigger. Like, say, the Mad Men stealing a large shipment of Miraclo!
Ted better break out the Hostess Twinkies, I don't think there is any other way that he will survive this fight with the Hulk.
Super-LOL! :-)
Definitely would buy.
This reminds me, I had an idea for a split-cover issue a while back: A double team-up between Red Wolf and Pow-Wow Smith, one story (& half the cover) for their 19th-century versions, the other story (& half-cover) for their modern versions... with the second story effectively a sequel to the first.
Maybe you and Bob Greenwade should collaborate on that!
Then, you could return the favor by helping him with his two-generation Spidey/Mr. Terrific team-up!!
:-)
