The Thing joins The Wacky Races

Sure, Dick Dastardly was a bad guy, but he definitely had one of the cooler vehicles in The Wacky Races. I never thought Muttley was really all that bad though, he just always seemed to be laughing and having a god time.

Oh, man! Does this bring back fun memories. Two of my favorite H-B characters. Ben Grimm (as voiced by Paul Frees for "The Fantastic Four" ) and Dick Dastardly (as voiced by Paul Winchell), driver of the old Double Zero. The only time I ever found math enjoyable (for two different reasons)! Thereby providing me just as G-00-D a time as Muttley.

Thank you, again, Ross. :-)

The interesting thing about Dick Dastardly (specifically in his original Wacky Racers incarnation) is that he was actually the best (or at least in the top two, with Penelope Pitstop as the other) racer of the bunch, and had the single best car. He was just a lousy cheater. He often got well ahead of the other racers in order to set his traps, which generally backfired on him. If he'd just concentrated on winning fair and square, he would have won most of those races. (I tend to think of the Dick Dastardly of Dastardly and Muttley in Their Flying Machines as a different character, probably an ancestor.)

Well, considering that the spin-off seemed to be set during World War I (what with most of the aircraft being biplanes and all), I'd say your guess is spot-on, Alaric! :-)

Only if he tried flirting with Alicia, I'm sure.

I'm still hoping we can eventually see Hong Kong Phooey joining the Wacky Races.
