Sub-Mariner and The Partridge Family

All can't truly be as it seems on this cover, can it?  I'm not sure, but I think I would have shelled out a couple of quarters and a dime to find out.

Hmmm, Namor does have a thing for blondes. Sorry, Sue Storm, but you've been replaced by Shirley Partridge.

Now all we need is the Dazzler somewhere in there

That was amongst the worst cartoon adaptation of the era.

Isn’t it Partridge Family 2200 A.d.?

Yeah, wouldn't Jabberjaw and friends have been a little more contemporary (and a lot more fitting) by comparison?

Carycomic said...

True. They were more accurately depicted (at least with regard to Laurie, Danny, Chris and Tracy) on "Goober And The Ghost Chasers".

So tell me when did the WW II Sub-Mariner find the time to get behind the mic?

Carycomic said...

It was probably Halloween, 1946. He went trick-or-treating as Bing Crosby.

I'd shell out even a modern-day cover price* for this story. And I imagine that the most fun part of working on this cover was probably getting the mike into Namor's hands.

*What is it these days, anyway? $2.50? $4? $9.95?

He had the mike, If I remember correctly, it wasn't from a story but a subscription page.

Ah! So perhaps that image was what inspired this cover?

Yup!

@Carycomic: they were probably too busy rescuing Aquaman from the Sea Monkees @ STF #792. ;-)
