Ghost Rider and Vigilante

With all the trouble Marvel is having bringing Blade back to the big screen, I wonder how long it will be before we see Ghost Rider in the movies again.  Perhaps the answer would be a Midnight Sons type of film combining the two, and bringing in other characters like Werewolf by Night and Man-Thing.

If I were Vig, I'd get help from the Punisher and Hit Man (assuming they're not still in Purgatory...as residents).

The thought-balloon specifically states the Vigilante has to bring him in, which usually means "alive-for-questioning." So maybe he should get help from Dr. Strange or Kraven the Hunter (occupied by Deadman).

If that's the case, he might be better off getting help from the Rangers (from STF #4193).

Btw, Ross, that's the same issue that should give Jonah Hex an even thirty appearances.

@Anon: hey! That's an idea. Have the Vigilante get help from Jonah Hex and Conan the Barbarian!*

*If only to bring those two together, here, for the first time.

Not to mention, raise Jonah's tally of appearances to a rightful thirty-one!

I remember having this issue of World's Finest (#214 1972) as a wee lad. I like that you retained the title box with the heroes listed and their avatars. It's sort of the combination of DC (JLA) floating heads roll call and Marvel corner boxes. Great cover!

(Returning after a month without access to a PC; now both of mine are repaired.)

Don't forget the Black Knight as one of the MCU's Midnight Sons, if that comes to pass.

And, if nothing else, maybe Marvel could bring Sam Raimi in to let the group debut in the next Doctor Strange film.

Bob, happy to see you return, you were missed.

Bob, glad you're back..Ross, this was a more realistic cover to show a regular person trying to do a not-easy mission.

Midnight Sons should not include The Punisher. He’s not supernatural. They can use Dr Strange, Moon Knight, Man Thing, Blade, Werewolf by Night, Elsa Bloodstone, and Agatha (now a ghost). Maybe they could even use Morbius.

I'm not aware of anyone nominating the Punisher for membership in the Midnight Sons.

The sequel to this needs to be Adrain Chase Vigilante and Ghost Rider Danny Chase. Maybe Danny has to fight his way out of Hell to save Adrian's soul after he committed suicide.

He was included on the team in a failed comic pitch. The art is online if you Google it.

Carycomic said...

Danny Chase is DC and usually goes by the alias "Phantasm" while GR 2.0 is Danny Ketch.

He's probably suggesting a Ross-verse custom amalgam similar to Iron Beetle.

Wasn't there a story arc where Castle finally committed suicide only for some writer to revivify him a la Hollow Ollie Queen?

Carycomic said...

Yep! Found it; PUNISHER v. 4/#1-4 back in 1998.

So, while he might not have _stayed_ supernaturalized, that brief experience alone might qualify him as adopted Midnight Son.

They had him as a Frankenstein once and a demonic powered character once, but he’s generally not that type of character. Spider-Man once had cosmic powers but mostly he is known as a street level hero.

But, if worse comes to worst, I'd settle for Castle becoming Capt. Universe in order to take on Mr. Universe!
