Batman Vs. Kang

Kang is the next Avengers villain that I really want to see on the big screen.  His time travelling shenanigans could make for a real corker of a story and allow the filmmakers to explore some other eras in the Marvel Universe.  A lot of hints are pointing to altering the timeline as a part of the events of the upcoming Avengers 4, though - I don't know if the movie makers will want to go to that well twice in a row.

Why wouldn't they? It's been working for "The Flash" series since Day 1! Hasn't it?

Seriously, though: thanks for this cover, Ross. If only the first "Crisis On Infinite Earths" could have been resolved this way!

So WHICH Batman versus Kang?
This would be a great read. Wish I could peak into your head as you cook these covers up.

@Marc: agreed. Can imagine what might happen if Ross pitted Rip Hunter against Kang _and_ Darth Vader?

The mind can only boggle.

Damn, what a cover Ross! Shit, now I REALLY want to see this match-up. Batman against Kang really would be a hell of a battle even though it would appear right out of the gate how over-matched Bruce is, but as history has shown us, Batman ALWAYS wins.

Also I'm giving the Modern Batman the edge of his more sillier Silver Age counterpart here. Which reminds of an old Wizard Magazine fantasy battle that pitted the then modern Grant Morrison JLA against their Silver Age counterparts. The Morrison JLA just edged out a victory by one.

Ah, the Brave and the Bold #200! I remember it well, and very fondly; kudos Ross. This issue, the last in the series, came out right around the same time as Detective Comics #526, and both were instrumental in my early appreciation of Batman as a kid. I still remember the gold "Anniversary" embossed across the top of both issues; it was a DC marketing tool at the time.

If I were stranded on a desert island, both issues would be on the short list of issues I would want with me.

Using time travel in Avengers 4 and introducing Kang might not be two separate things. It could be how the MCU introduces the character! (There's supposedly an "even bigger threat" of some sort in that film, so why couldn't that be Kang?)

Have it Yo Way @ Burga Kang.

You're a man of your word, brother! :-)

P.S.---I'd also like to compliment Ross on the title. It reminds me of that time Jason Alexander guest-starred on "Criminal Minds." He was the only one who appreciated Gubler's riddle about how many existenialists it takes to screw in a light bulb.

"The answer is, of course, none. Because an existenialist would simply embrace the darkness!"
