Thor and Captain Comet

With the surprising news of James Gunn's removal from the third Guardians of The Galaxy movie, many are wondering what will become of the final chapter in the planned trilogy.  Apparently a script is completed, so they could still get production underway on schedule if they have a director with the chops to take it on.  The best suggestion I have heard so far is Taika Waititi.  The visuals, music, humor and overall attitude of Thor: Ragnarok felt more like a Guardians film to me anyway, let's see what he can do with the real thing!

Cool cover and team-up. Given Comet's powers, a prolonged fight between the two "cousins" would interesting to see.
Man I have no idea how the Guardians' movie franchise is going to bounce back from this. On one hand maybe a new director will help go alone with the new direction they're planning for GoTG, especially if the rumors of keeping Gamora dead are true, then a new vision will fit the dramatic shift of tone after IW. On the other, fans are used to the already established tone of Gunn's vision. Trying to match that is going to be interesting. I will say nominating Taika Waititi's not a bad idea though.

We'll see how it goes.

Truth to tell, I didn't pay much attention to who directed the first two GOTG movies. I was more concerned with the believability of the actors cast in the principle roles.

That being said: thank you for establishing a genealogical like between these two comic legends! Between the Danvers Sisters, the Power Couple, and the Star-Spangled Duo, you are rapidly creating a memorable literary universe all your own. And deservedly so!

Speaking of genealogical links, I vaguely remember a third-tier Star Trek novel that implied Spock's mother Amanda had a Dark Knight sidekick in her family tree...

@JJ: I think that was more likely an on-line fanfic.

For those interested in further pointless speculation of this subject.

Talking of possible relationships, what if Nightcrawler's father wasn't a mutant who looked like a devil -- as Marvel, at one point, decided -- but actually a real demon, instead? Specifically, what if Nightcrawler was a child of Trigon... and thus a half-brother to Raven?

Now, that's what I call well-pointed speculation! :-)

They have to team up to rescue their future-cousin, Bonnie Blake -- the girlfriend of Capt. Ace (Ultra the Multi-Alien) Arn!

Via a time machine invented by "Atom" Blake (Boy Wizard)?
