Spawn Vs. Ragman

It sounds like a new Spawn movie is finally going to happen after years of teases.  Todd McFarlane himself will be directing with Jamie Foxx in the title role and Jeremy Renner as Detective Twitch.  Mcfarlane promises more of a horror film feel and less of a superhero vibe for the movie.  Even with all of the 1990's CGI that does not hold up today, I still kind of liked the first attempt when it was released, and it will be interesting to see the differences that a come about as a result of twenty years passing and having the actual creator behind the camera.

Coming tomorrow - STF #2300!

Speaking of movies: it looks like the Aquaman movie has finally been made. I saw a "Coming Soon" lobby card for it at my hometown multiplex (en route to MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 6)!

Nicely done, Ross!

It makes me wonder if you could simulate a photo-capture of Tobey Maguire's Spidey giving an upside-down kiss to Serinda Swan's Zatanna?

Yeah I'm not feeling Jamie Foxx as Spawn. Sure he's been great in plenty of movies, especially biopics, but Spawn???? Surely they could've found a better choice in the same vein as the original Spawn Michael Jai White.

Very cool cover and idea for a fight Ross.
I'd imagine Ragman might actually be able to hold his own for awhile here, considering he's powered by the souls of the dead, so for story purposes in the case of this fight I'm sure a good number of Spawn's past victims, both as Spawn and his former human identity as Al Simmons (since he was a former soldier/mercenary) would gladly help power up Ragman in order to get revenge.

I have to agree with Dale. Jamie Foxx (for lack of a better term) sucked as Electro! So, I can't see honestly see him doubling the cult-popularity of Spawn.

Great cover! I'm hoping RAGMAN will make it back on ARROW at some point. As for SPAWN, I never had a problem with the original film. It came out well before the current super hero movie craze and was pretty well done for it's time. Michael Jai White is an accomplished martial artist and action star and did a great job. He even played the part of The BRONZE TIGER on ARROW. I'm not sure about Jamie Foxx in the SPAWN role. He comes across as a self-entitled jerk in real life, but I'm willing to look past all that if he can deliver in the film.

I was shocked to discover that there was any interest in a new Spawn movie. Is Spawn still a popular character? I just sort of figured that his comic was limping along as a holdover from the 90s era of ridiculous excess and even more ridiculous costumes.

However, Ross, I do think that teaming Spawn up with Ragman is pretty brilliant. And for all you Spawn fans, I hope that his new movie is everything you want it to be.

What I want it to be to be is...some kind of cruel hoax. As in, even the original "Spawn" flick was one too many!

2300! Congratulations. I don't know how you do it.

If Ragman were to meet Richie Rich... well, with my penchant for awful puns, I'm sure you can see where that's going.

"Rags To Richie?"

Wouldn't have been bad, Bob. :-)
