Calvin & Hobbes and Winnie the Pooh

I hadn't been paying too much attention to the upcoming Christopher Robin film starring Ewan McGregor, but I checked out the trailer the other day and was intrigued.  It looks like a heartwarming tale that will tug at all the right heart strings.  What really struck me, though, was the design of Pooh and all the other forest characters.  The look as though they stepped right out of A.A. Milne's original stories.  I'll definitely be checking this movie out.

The Movie StarLord with Rocket Racoon should join them in a sequel!

I love this one & would love to see Pooh & friends. You're right this movie will tug at the heartstrings, it has for me. See when I was a kid my mom used to read Winnie the Pooh to me and these were the A.A.Milne's stories, not the Disney Pooh Bear. Last week I was at Barnes & Noble and in their Collected h/c classics for $20 I found the Complete Stories of Winnie the Pooh, well worth it. I had to grab it right away. Keep up the great work. Couple ideas; the Thunderbolts & Suicide Squad, the Legion of Subs & the Great Lakes Avengers. Seems like a couple natural pairings.

I really love how fun this cover is. Maybe the Spaceman Spiff alias could see some action.

Is his name Winnie? Is that a male or female name? Is he a Pooh? What is a Pooh? Are there other Poohs? Do any of the characters ever call him Winnie? Shouldn't his name just be Pooh Bear?

Tim, Spaceman Spiff has appeared on a few covers, found under the Calvin and Hobbes label.

New Shmoo, you must go to a library or bookshop and get the original books to get the full whimsy of the un-disneyfied stories. Winnie the Pooh and his friends were based on stories AA Milne made up about his son Christopher and his toys. I think it was When We Were Very Young, a book of poetry, that told the story of how young Christopher gave his bear (male) the name Winnie (female, after a bear in London Zoo). Pooh came later. See the book for why.

Ah, yes! I can just picture it, now.

WINNIE THE POOH: "Look out, Christopher Robin. It's a man-eating jugular!"

CR (igniting his lightsaber with a "fwoosh"): "Don't worry, Pooh. The Force is with us!"

This video shows a bit about Pooh's origin.

Extending Cavillier1970's suggestions: Femforce vs. Mighty Crusaders (or League of Champions or Justice Machine or the Protectors).

I have always loved me some Justice Machine ever since I was a kid in the late 70s early 80s. Mike Gustovich is an unjustly underrated creator in my opinion. As a suggestion for a team up cover... how about the Justice Machine and the Elementals?? Just kidding as I know it's a reality in the form of an awesome mini series and a great crossover at that. Seriously though, how about Justice Machine and Alpha Flight or the Elementals and Urth 4 (Continuity Comics)???
