I was frustrated how little that Colossus was used in Bryan Singer's X-Men films, so I was glad to hear that he would be featured in Deadpool. I liked the new more comic-faithful appearance they gave him, but given the title character, I did worry that he would simply be the butt of a lot of jokes at his expense. He did play the straight man to a degree, but I think that he came off relatively unscathed and it was very cool to see him in action.
And now we are even getting a live action Commander Steel on DC's Legends of Tomorrow? I never thought I would see the day.

It seems like the pure-hearted language cop is a big thing these days. I can see Luke Cage, Captain America, and the version of Colossus from Deadpool in "The Swear Jar."
When I saw Colossus and Steel at the top of the page, I thought of the John Henry Irons Steel. When I saw it was Steel the Indestructible Man I admit that I was a little disappointed. To me, Steel the Indestructible Man is a little too derivative of a few other characters to be very interesting. But of course, I know that every character I find mediocre someone else finds underused and under-appreciated....
And it's still a nice cover.
The short-lived STEEL comic is really good. It was great when the mighty Roy Thomas decided to turn him into an important member of the ALL-STAR SQUADRON rather than just have him make an occasional cameo.
I've always been ambivalent about Commander Steel, at best. At the time of his debut in FIRST ISSUE SPECIAL, he came across as too much of a Capt. America/$6,000,000 Man rip-off.
And not all imitation is sincere or flattering.
Commander and citizen
Colossus was one of my favourite bits of Deadpool; I loved how genuine and nice he was, and how it contrasted with Deadpool's world.
Outstanding cover! I've loved Commander Steel since his days leading the All-Star Squadron, and it's always nice to see him in action. Nice pairing with Colossus, but if he's actually going to be on Legends of Tomorrow, then now, finally, I'll have to toon in. Thanks Ross, would love to see more of him in future.

@ Simreeve: only during the Golden Age. During the Silver Age, Cap was reactivated first. Making Archie Comics' revival of the Shield the corporate copycat. :P :P
