Here's how you can help to support Super-Team Family, The Lost Issues!

Do you enjoy following Super-team family: The Lost Issues, and  would like to ensure that it keeps going?  Here's how you can do just that!

It is time once again for my once a year reminder about how you can help out - while this blog is a labor of love for me, it remains a one-man operation and can be quite time consuming to keep up on a daily basis, while trying to maintain or improve the quality.

The blog will of course always be free, but if you would like to help support it, there are a couple of ways to do so - by by making a one time contribution by clicking on the "Donate" button at the bottom of this page, or by becoming a Patron at Patreon.  While I welcome and take suggestions from anyone, Patrons of course get special consideration in that regard.

I truly appreciate everyone who takes the time to check out my covers, and those who participate in the comments sections, whether on the blog itself, the Facebook Fan Page or my Twitter Feed.  I always enjoy hearing feedback and I read every message with amusement, appreciation and interest. I may not respond to every idea for a future cover, but I see them all and keep a list of every one that I feel has potential. you'll never know when a team up you suggested a year or so earlier might suddenly show up.

We just passed the 5,200th STF cover on the blog (Plus the 510 B&B and MTIO covers that it began with)!  I never would have made it this far without the support and encouragement that I have received over the years.  I look forward to sharing the covers that I have coming up.   Thank you all for stopping by for your daily dose of team up fun!

The Three Caballeros and The Three Amigos

Three Amigos is one of my favorite comedies.  There are so many quotable lines and the goofy humor throughout just strikes my funny bone.  It's not for everyone, I've shown it to some people who just don't get my affection for it (same goes for Young Frankenstein).  I thought it might be fun for the Amigos to cross paths with another singing trio from across the border.

X-Men and The Justice League of America in "Crisis on Battleworld!"

Now we found out where the missing heroes from yesterday's cover have been.  This marks the third clash between these two teams.  They first met in STF #700, and then again in STF #2259...

Here's a larger look at today's individual stories:

Cyclops and The Elongated Man

Just where did the teammates of these four famous co-stars disappear to?  That answer will have to wait until tomorrow, when STF #5200 hits the stands!

Ghost Rider and The Shadow

I don't think that a flaming skull-headed cyclist would be all that out of place in the noir world of The Shadow.  At the very least, I'd be interested in checking out a tale that combined the two.

Indiana Jones and Doctor Fate in: "Self-Sacrifice!"

When these two last met each other on the blog in STF #4988, Indy was seeking out Dr. Fate's help. It looks like Fate is the one in need of assistance this time around.

The Anti-Monitor Vs. Thanos

Who do you think wins this battle?  I don't see the Infinity Gauntlet here, so Thanos may be in for some trouble.

Saturday, July 4, 2026

Uncle Sam and America Chavez

For me, today will be a fun day filled with family, food and fireworks. No matter where you hail from, I hope you are having a great Saturday as well!

Captain Universe and Plastic Man

I wonder just who is wielding the Uni-Power this time out?  That certainly doesn't look like Woozy Wink's physique, so I think we can rule him out.

Thursday, July 2, 2026

Nova and The Ray

With two brightly glowing heroes zipping through the cosmos, I think that this would be a visually interesting tale to depict - and a fun one to read about!

Batman Vs. Aliens (The Movie!)

I remember a pretty well done Batman Vs. Aliens mini-series in comic book form back in the day, but how cool would a live action version of that match up been?  Get Ridley Scott or James Cameron back to direct and that would have been quite the blockbuster!

The Toyman invades Toy Story

Toy Story 5 seems like another huge hit for the franchise, both critically and commercially.  I'm looking forward to checking out the next adventure of Woody, Buzz and the rest of the gang.  This cover comes about from a suggestion by Marc Tyler Nobleman, comics' historian and Patron of this Blog.  Thanks, Marc!

Code: Red in: "The Benefactor!"

For the third appearance of Code: Red, I thought that it was time to reveal just who was behind the formation of this team.  Who better than the most famous redhead in comic strips? I'm glad she's using some of that Warbucks fortune for good.

Professor X and Racer X

For some reason, C-list villain Doctor Double-X has had some requests for an appearance on the blog.  The choice of heroes to face off against him seemed obvious to me.  This issue probably would not have flown off of the stands, but I think I would have been curious enough to want to read it.

Harvey Birdman and Two-Face

Two attorneys, both named Harvey but each operating with their own set of rules - It was only a matter of time before they crossed paths.

Doctor Strange and Batgirl

When I posted a cover featuring Commissioner Gordon summoning Doctor Strange a week or so ago, Ken Roskos (a Patron of this Blog) and others said that the set up called for a follow up cover.  I had to agree, so here's what had Jim Gordon so concerned.

Black Panther and Superman

Here's another pairing tat I have been meaning to get to for a while. It looks like they have their work cut out for them with these glowing monstrosities.

Green Arrow and Captain America in: "Batroc & The Behemoth!"

Following up from yesterday's Golden Age style cover, here I present a Bronze Age adventure between Cap and Ollie. It took some tinkering to remove Spider-Man from the original image - Here's a look at the behind the scenes progress:

Captain America and Green Arrow in: "A High-Rise Heist!"

I was surprised to realize that I had gone this far without featuring a team up between these two heroes.  To make up for it, here's a Golden Age adventure - And up next tomorrow will be a Bronze Age style cover featuring them together as well.

All-Star Squadron and Woverine

Logan would have already been in operation when the All-Stars were formed, so it's not out of the questions that they would cross paths.  Hos healing factor would be a big help against that pesky Spear.

Giant Man and The Chalengers of the Unknown

The Microverse certainly fits into the category of the unknown, so it's only natural that The Challengers would be interested in exploring it.  Who better the serve as a tour guide than Hank Pym?

Beta Ray Bill and Luke Skywalker

In a battle between Uru Hammer and Lightsaber, who do you think has the advantage?  It would be a cool confrontation so see play out, especially if an artist as dynamic as Walt Simonson were to illustrate it.

Wonder Woman Vs. Absorbing Man

Could Crusher Creel truly adopt the properties of Wonder Woman's magic lasso?  I think that's an interesting enough set up to build a story around.

Thursday, June 18, 2026

Lando Calrissian, Tomar-Re and The Silver Surfer

The Mandalorian and Grogu is struggling at the box office.  I really liked the first two seasons of the Disney+ series and I thought Andor was great - but there have also been a lot of missteps since Lucas sold the company.  I'm not sure what could be done with the Star Wars franchise to turn things around at this point. If you put me in charge, I'd probably set up a scenario like the one above, so what do I know?

Doctor Strange and Commissioner Gordon

I can only imagine what kind of situation would cause Gordon to summon the Master of Mystic Arts for assistance.  It would certainly be fun to find out.

Tuesday, June 16, 2026

Doc Savage and Han Solo

These two are cut from a similar cloth.  They definitely have the same taste in boots.  I can see them working well together if some kind of time-storm threw them into the same adventure.

Richie Rich and Casper meet The Spectre

Uh oh, this looks like a dilemma that Richie won't be able to spend his way out of!  Let's hope Casper has some connections on the other side to help out!

The Fantastic Four and The Phantom Stranger

Haunted houses are bad enough, but a haunted Baxter Building, including Reed's Lab? That's a whole new level of trouble to deal with.

Saturday, June 13, 2026

Captain Marvel and Ghost Rider

Now this is truly and odd couple.  A story that would find them having to work together could be very interesting.

Daredevil and Ace, The Bat-Hound

There was a pitch for a never produced Daredevil animated series that featured a dog sidekick, Lightning.  I think I would have enjoyed that!

This post is dedicated to my cat Ace, who passed away at the much too young age of 10 recently.  I miss him terribly.  Here are a few memories of him, casting a perfect bat-shadow and acting as my muse as I worked on this blog over the years:

The Defenders and Captain Atom

A leaked final trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day have reportedly confirmed what I was hoping for.  The Savage Hulk will finally be returning to the MCU.  Smart Hulk was fun for one movie, but he never reverted back and has kind of worn out his welcome.  I'm ready for some smashing again.  Hopefully a Thing/Hulk fight will not be too far off.

Wednesday, June 10, 2026

Space Ghost and Iron Man

A rollicking tale of two heroes facing evil interstellar villains, illustrated by the amazing Steve Rude?  I know that I'd pick up a copy.

Tuesday, June 9, 2026

Dazzler and The Flash

As much as I like Andy Serkis as an actor, I was disappointed to never see a fully formed Klaw in the MCU.  I don't know how they would have gone about explaining his signature comic book appearance, but it would have been cool to see.

Superman, Speed Racer and The Impossible Man

I have to say, if Superman lost his flight and had to find another way to get around, he could do a lot worse than that sweet ride!  This was a case where I stumbled on to an image and it suggested a whole story to me.

Daughters of the Dragon and Man-Bat

We know that Luke Cage and Danny Rand will be returning in Daredevil: Born Again season 3 - but what about the Daughters of the Dragon?  When we last saw them, Misty had just received her bionic arm and Colleen had the power of the Iron Fist - I want to see what happens next with both of them!

Saturday, June 6, 2026

Moon Knight Vs. The Riddler

This could be an interesting match up.  Moon Knight's shifting personalities might keep even Edward Nigma guessing at his next move.

Friday, June 5, 2026

Giant-Man and Amanda Waller

There was a lot of talk about a Waller HBO Max series a while back, but I haven't read much news about it lately.  I'm not sure if it is still happening, but it would be good to see Viola Davis back in the role.

Thursday, June 4, 2026

Nova and Red Tornado

Here are a couple of heroes that have never gained mainstream attention outside of die hard comic book fans.  Maybe if they are included in their respective cinematic universes down the line, that will change.

Wednesday, June 3, 2026

Tarzan and The Phantom in: "The Nature of Evil!"

Tarzan and The Phantom first met on this blog back in 2012, on a very early MS Paint cover... I figured it was high time that I put them together again - especially if it means that I get to combine my two favorite comic book artists - Jim Aparo and Joe Kubert.

Tuesday, June 2, 2026

Aquaman Vs. Sandman

Aquaman is a pretty tough guy but location is everything!  It would be interesting to see how he would get out of this fix.  I just finished the surprisingly entertaining Spider-Noir on Amazon Prime, and I enjoyed how The Sandman was realized on that show, pretty good for a TV budget.

Monday, June 1, 2026

Batman and Nighthawk in "Battle of the Billionaires!"

It looks like these two rich boys are at it again!  They were last seen fighting over a gold digger in STF #1295, and they first appeared together frightened side by side in on of this Blog's earliest covers...
