Batman and the modern day Black Knight faced off on a Lost B&B cover from way back in 2010, so I thought that it was high time that he met the original version. I have to imagine that their capes would really get in the way in a swordfight, though!

I've been able to find some old 40s Justice Society comics online, and I'm finding I really like Al Pratt. He's the funniest member, which makes him easiest to read. So my wild suggestion is: The Atom (Al Pratt) and Ant-Man (Hank Pym)?

Unless, of course, you put your self-righteous indignation on the back-burner long enough to calm down and have Merlin do some divination, via his spirit guides, on this caped crusader's exploits.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of capes: in one of the early issues of ZORRO from Dynamite Entertainment (partially based on the Isabel Allende novel), an adolescent Diego Vega was told by no less than Jean Lafitte, himself, that a cape can often cause a rival swordsman to misjudge where to attempt a crippling strike to their opponent's sword arm.
Of course, in the event the rival swordsman guesses right, the cape can also double as a source of improvised bandaging!

Deletei spent around 30+ years as a re-actor and found fighting in a cloak to be really tricky, Sir Percy was not actually a knight as he had never gone through the ceremony, so if Arthur knighted him in combat he would be a lower noble and not able to claim Knighthood ,

This is, as you say, two versions of the Black Knight that Batman has met. There's a third that I'd love to see, though using that one might (ahem) cost an arm and a leg. #BadPunNoCookie
It might also be fun to see Booster Gold meet Sir Percy.
It also just occurred to me that a fight between Nightcrawler and Ambush Bug would be fun, both for their shared power of teleportation and for their respective personalities.
