Spider-Man and Tintin

Spidey may not be open to switching photographers for obvious reasons - but there's no denying he could use some better marketing.  Tintin previously met Peter Parker when they were both members of The Newshounds in STF #1770...

  1. i grew up with Herge’s tintin had ( and have the hardbacks ) even before any American comic books,
so it’s good to see that he is still in the field ! bet he gets better angles than Peter,
and if you haven’t seen on kickstarter - Tara Togs being done in the same style…

  2. I can just see it, now. There's a break-out from the Slab. Psycho-pirate and the Hatemonger are on the loose! Spidey tries to recapture them, single-handed and, failing to do so...

Tintin gets sued for his slanderous remark on this morning's cover. For as we all know, accusations without great poof...come with great controversy.*

*No worries, Ross. Your pun is undeniably way better. :-)

  3. I, of course, meant to say "...great proof."

Boy! Do I feel fooish. I better get the "l" out of here.

  4. I had a great idea for a cover last night. Two Spider-Men and two Creepers. Spider-Man and the Creeper battle The Chameleon and Proteus. "Who's Who Times Two".

  5. I second Emsley's motion. Wyatt's pure genius!

    ;-D

  6. Great tagline, love it! And this Spidey is from one of the more recent cartoons, right?

Say, I had an interesting idea the other day... for us fans of classic cartoons from the eighties and nineties... the Defenders of the Earth meet Captain Planet and the Planeteers! "You say you defend the Earth... Don't you think it's about time you guys start living up to your name?"

  7. You could also turn this around with Peter Parker trying to get pictures of Elastic Lad. (That might even turn into an ongoing partnership!)

Oh, and I also support Emsley's idea. It could also be Spidey and Batman vs. Chameleon and Clayface.

  8. PS @Cary: It's already done; there is no L in "here." ;)

  9. LOL! Now, I feel doubly fooish. ;-)

  10. @Bob Greenwade: actually, that was Psycho Man that PP teaamed up with @ STF #1500. Hatemonger's appeared here, solo, five times.

  11. @Carycomic: what do you wanna bet he still doesn't get the joke.

  12. Ross, from the gathered fans come a ember...
The ember for your consideration....from the roads that led to The Joker's Wild....and The Overlords....and. The Totalitarians.....we give you
The Chameleon, Clayface, Proteus at the core of The Espionage Executives.

  13. And with their egos, they want to know
    Who's on First??

  14. Thanks for the compliment, Anon. As for the idea of throwing Batman and Clayface into thee mix, I'm just sorry I didn't think of that one myself. A new title would be needed though.

Supes saves a cat up a tree and Spidy saves a dog. True blue heroes all the way. And for the group something simple but elegant like The Shifters.

  16. @Emsley and Tobor: you mean, less alliterative than "Espionage Executives"? Okay, then; how about "Incogniti"? A portmanteau of "incognito" and "cognoscenti".

  17. Minor digression.

Dear Ross: how about a sequel to STF #1451 where everybody's favorite half-Contraxian teams up with Mickey Mouse to battle the Joker? Tentative title: "Jack of Kingdom Hearts!"

  18. @Carycomic: I'd rather see an April Fool's cover featuring the Spot in the Sea of Holes (from "Yellow Submarine").

  19. @Anon@11:27: Huh???

@Tobor: I think Mystique could also be added to this group of villainous shapeshifters.

  20. @Bob G, is that why HR was here to give you a platinum star? Show off!

  21. @Bob G, actually I think you inspired a better "title brand" for the group of villainous shapeshifters..., using a V with the $ on it to show how they could shift.
Putting the $ overlaid on the V is a different matter.

    ReplyDelete
  22. @Horsefeathers: In that case, why not call them "$hifters"?

@Bob Greenwade: "Fooish...get the 'l' out of here..." was it really that subtle?

    ReplyDelete
  23. @Tobor: Mayor Pufnstuf gives out platinum stars, now?

  24. P.S. @ B.G.---my apologies. I thought it was in the public domain.

    :-)

  25. @Anon@8:01: I got Cary's joke. That's why I made one back.

  26. @Bob Greenwade: In terms of ability vs. good intentions, do you think this Spider-man would stand a chance (even with Tintin's help) in bringing down both of today's villain groups before their turf war got out of hand?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Personally, I think the mop-up should be handled by Power Girl and/or Rogue and/or She-Hulk.

    ReplyDelete
  28. @Cary: Spidey vs. the Rogues and the Wrecking Crew? Zero chance, even with Tintin and the Flash's whole family.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Yep! Me, too. That's why I have to agree with Anon247's assessment.

  30. My next question is: what would a one-shot trio of superheroines be called in such a situation? Certainly not "The Cleaning Ladies"!

I know they'd mop the floor with me if I suggested that, face-to-face.
