The Rogues Vs. The Wrecking Crew

 

This would be an interesting free for all to watch play out.  The Rogues have the numbers and the gadgets, while the Crew has Asgardian magic to back them up.  Who wins?

    i think that the home team would have a starting advantage but the magic would make the difference,
    unless Abra Kaddabra is the team’s backup…

  2. Love villain vs villain. I could see this happening with Flash out of town and the Rogues protecting Central City. Mirror Master is very dangerous no matter whoever he fights so unless the Wrecking Crew surprises them who information on the Rogues they will lose.

The Rogues can't match the Crew's physical attributes (strength, durability, etc.), unless they have Grodd with them, but they have much more varied powers (even if most of those powers come from gadgets) than the Crew, and they're all smarter than 3/4 of the Crew members (when your second-smartest member's the Wrecker, your group isn't going to exactly be known for brains). I tend to think that would give them the advantage in the long run, but it wouldn't be an easy fight. Unless Grodd is with the Rogues- I think that would be a massacre. The Crew wouldn't stand a chance, in that case- between Grodd's physical abilities, telepathic powers, and intelligence, and the various powers of the other Rogues, I can't see the Wrecking Crew being much of a challenge.I'm not sure Grodd's worked with the Rogues since the early days, though. (I know he was the one who first brought the Rogues together, back in the Silver Age, and I feel like I have a nagging memory of him working with them at least one other time.)

  6. I think, in the end, that the Rogues would prevail, and the Crew would head back to NYC (or wherever their usual stomping grounds* are). But the battle would take up nearly the whole issue, and would likely require much in the way of mind games (which I think Trickster is good with) -- to say nothing of copious property damage.

    *Pun not intended, but appreciated (even if it is a bit of a stretch).

  8. Since the Runaways kicked the Crew's butts once, I'd go with the Rogues, even without Grodd, Abra, or Professor Zoom.

  9. Weather Wizard could/would whip up a tornado to spin Bulldozer unconscious.

    Capt. Cold would freeze Pile Driver in his tracks long enough for Capt. Boomerang to knock him out with anesthetic "gasserangs".

    Heatwave could/would make it too hot for Thunderball to hold on to his eponymous weapon (basically, a spike-free morningstar). Thereby causing him to drop it long enough for the Trickster to knock him out with a yo-yo made from adamantium.

    And the Wrecker, himself, could/would be distracted by dozens of holographic reflections generated by the Mirror Master till the other five Rogues dog-piled him!

  10. I like the play by play up above but I thought it'd be over pretty quick with WW making a tornado to carry the 4 out of town &/or to their deaths. I guess it's up to me to note that the WC has gadgets themselves with a crowbar, wrecking ball & metal helmet (poor Piledriver).
