Uh oh, looks like Hawkman is caught between The Invaders and The FGG! Fortunately, the Golden Age Hawkman has had some experience with the individual members of Marvel's first fighting team - He met Captain America in STF #757, The Human Torch in STF #1519, and Sub-Mariner first in STF #208, and then again in STF #1896...
Uh-oh! It looks like the Frontward-Gazing Gunmen are after the secret of Nth Metal. No doubt for the benefit of the Axis Powers. Can you imagine squadrons of Luftwaffe pilots dressed like the Hawkmen of Mongo?
ReplyDeleteThey would probably have been able to fly rings around even the Rocketeer! :-(
Hawkman (and Hawkgirl/Hawkwoman) would be a great addition to The Invaders!
ReplyDeleteHow does this have only _three_ comments at lunch time?
ReplyDelete@Anon1226: just a wild guess, of course. But, maybe, everybody else was out to lunch?
ReplyDeleteAnyone else unable to get the picture to load today?
ReplyDeleteNever mind, it seems to be fine now! I must've been sitting in a bad signal spot or something.
ReplyDelete@Carycomic: lol! That's as good a theory as any. :-)
ReplyDeleteCary's first comment made me think of a Flash Gordon/Hawkman team-up, such as we saw way back in #418. Normally I'd follow up a sentence like that with a request for a follow-up, but while one wouldn't exactly be unwelcome, I don't think it's needed; just the one should be fine. That said, Hawkman encountering Vultan ("I thought you were dead!") would be fun.
ReplyDeletewhile i would hope Carter & Namor might do ok at least together as they are in the same class. Being royalty still isn't that common for crime fighters. They might have strong mutual rezpect.
ReplyDeleteConsidering CGI these days, if they can do Darkseid, they can do an actor able to measure up to the wings as needed. If not, they could always look for the understudy to Thanos.
@Tobr: I'm surprised Deathbird of the Shi'ar has never been used here. Not even in an adversarial role against Hawkman!*
ReplyDelete*The same way that Batman and Catwoman are adversaries.
