It was nice to see Agent Carter get another spotlight on the second season of the animated What if...? series. I truly disliked how she and others were brought into live action for Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, only to be almost immediately killed off. Hopefully some of the rest who were used as cannon fodder will find a chance to shine again as well.
Yeah..., but...on the other hand, they can be killed over and over but be brought back by from the rest of the multiverse.(Can't wait till Marvel does Crisis on Earth 616).
ReplyDeleteDon’t give them ideas!

I don't get any streaming series. Plus, I never liked Marvel's introduction of the Illuminati concept just before the "Civil War" story arc.* Best of all, I loved seeing Patrick Stewart reprise the role of Professor Xavier one final time. Even if only as a parallel-Earth counterpart! So, I didn't mind the Illuminati being used as cannon fodder in DS/MOM.
ReplyDeleteBy the same token, I went to see "Aquaman & The Lost Kingdom," yesterday. It was a lot better than I initially expected! The Atlanteans, in particular, were everything that Prince Cinamor's "Mayans" should have been (but, of course, sadly weren't). And Martin Short had a great vocal cameo in that spoof of Jabba's Hut from "Return Of The Jedi."
*Sounds too much like the bogey-men in all those racist conspiracy theories already too overabundant in real life!
Just had a weird idea for a New Year's resolution inspired by your last two after-Xmas covers. How about sometime, during the next twelve months, giving us Darth Vader vs. The Punisher?
ReplyDeleteHow about combining two multiverses at the same time? It would be great if you pitted the canon immigrant character from yesterday’s episode of ‘What If?’ against the fallen heroes of DC’s ‘Dark Multiverse’ one-shots.
ReplyDeleteIt really was a cameo. That wasn't the same Captain Carter from What If...?, nor the Black Bolt from Inhumans or the Professor X from X-Men, but parallel versions of each. It'd be interesting, though, to see how Earth-838 fares after the death of most of the Illuminati.
ReplyDeleteBut I, for one, am looking forward to eventually seeing Captain Carter in Secret Wars. Maybe she can fight beside an alt-universe Jane "Mighty Thor" Foster.
I second the motion made by Anon854. It could be done as a sequel to STF #2175 (from March 2018)!
ReplyDeleteIn the Amalgam Universe, they became Mademoiselle Peggy, though it was long before Peggy was Captain.
ReplyDeleteSo chances are pretty good Mlle. Peggy lacked Dane Whitman's Ebony Blade (as well as the vibranium shield).
