Dave Cockrum and Jack Kirby created two of my favorite superheroine costumes when they came up for the looks for Storm and Big Barda. That would be reason enough for me to be interested in a story that featured them together. I'm betting there would be plenty of great action as well.
I think it'll be a cold day on New Genesis before a single snowflake falls on Apokolips.*
ReplyDelete*Sorry, Bob. Somebody had to say it first! ;-)
This could also have been an Outer Limits episode with the heroes of two worlds trying to change a third world.
ReplyDeleteCockrum really had talents in multi areas to have such an impact as Storm and her costume. The cape is not a traditional type. While Big Barda is totally impressive, Ross, what if she was also ginger?
Then she'd probably be stuck on Gilligan's Island with the Professor and Mary Ann.
ReplyDeleteThis definitely would make for an interesting story -- or, rather, an interesting chapter in an ongoing story. And I do think that these two heroines would have the kind of mutual respect that would make for an interesting working relationship.
ReplyDelete@Cary: No worries. It's cool.
Okay, I'll bite...why is it so important for winter to come to Apokolips? Perhaps we'll find out in a future issue?
ReplyDeleteMaybe Nekra (with Mandrill's help) has convinced Barda to help cast the Spell of Fire and Ice once used on Wakanda in Avengers vol. 1/#61. With Nekra and Mandrill, themselves, possibly being mind-controlled by Maelstrom via Grodd!

ReplyDelete@Anon1234: if that's what it takes to bring back Maelstrom for his second consecutive appearance, I'm for it. :-)
