I always gravitated towards the offbeat heroes, so this is an issue I would have grabbed off of the stand without thinking. I can see Jack Ryder launching an investigation into what's happening on the Blue Area of the Moon and then unwittingly getting caught up in an interplanetary incident.
Brilliant ! Maximus would have fun with the insanity of the Creeper, but he might make blackbolt scream in anger…
ReplyDeleteThe Creeper has always been a favorite of mine. Would love to see him teamed with Captain America. Not a natural pair-up for sure, but perhaps their similar origin stories could be the basis.
ReplyDelete@Simon: Or, even worse, Blackbolt could laugh like the Creeper!
ReplyDeleteAha! So, that's who the cybernaut was working for back in STF #4096. Maelstrom!!
ReplyDelete@Cary: who knows? Maelstrom could be even having a turf war with Darkseid (from yesterday's cover).
ReplyDeleteMaximus:Hmm....This Skull should be just right for my new doorknocker.
ReplyDeleteCreeper: I could get you my twin and you could us for cuff links.
Maximus: Too gauche. One will do.
Creeper: As long as you don't mind the lumps or the holes in my head.
Maximus: Sigh..., maintenance is such a bother.
P L O P....
@Tobor: This isn't Blackbolt's brother, Maximus the Mad. It's Maelstrom; son of their father's rival, Phaedor, by a Deviant mother.
ReplyDelete@anon 3:51, thanks. Haven't really read marvel since they killed Peter off while Otto was the "Superior Spider"...twice! It hasn't been the same since.
ReplyDeleteMaelstrom was introduced back in the 1980's as part of a story arc in the original Marvel Two-In-One.
