Hourman and Daredevil in: "Raising Grundy!"

These guys definitely went to the same tailor.  Whoever it was probably figured that Matt Murdock wouldn't notice he was getting a hand me down look from Rex Tyler! These two previously appeared together in these our fits in STF #3220, and first met back in STF #2892...

  1. "What if Daredevil had a dishonest tailor?" ;)

  2. This color-coordinated combo should mollify Bob Greenwade (since he couldn't get Sabine Wren and the 6th Doctor).

  3. Nice choice of originals, Ross; I'm not sure about the poses, but the shading really makes the two characters look like they were drawn together. And the Grundy story sort of serves as a (possibly unintentional) nod to the friendship between him and Hourman II on Stargirl.

I'm still wanting Daredevil in this "ketchup and mustard" outfit (as She-Hulk called it on the TV show) versus the Condiment King. (Any incarnation would do, though the TV one would be ideal.)

@Cary: Not so much. Only two colors are featured here (though I suspect Ross did a tiny bit of color adjustment to make them completely match). I'm looking for a cacophony of color!

  4. Maybe Ross can find a photo-capture of the old NBC peacock. ;-)

  5. @Daviticus, funny you should mention that. Check the Flash in his early years and you'll find he had one who helped the criminals dress to success for their new identities. Ironically, they used this same character as a good guy in Black Lightning.

Be interesting if Daredevil took a pill from Hourman. How far would his senses stretch out rather than having super strength.

  6. Almost. Paul Gambi was the criminal tailor in the Flash stories. Peter Gambi was Black Lightning's friend. In an early Black Lightning story, there was a panel where Peter thought about how pleased his brother would be that their plan was going so well; but Peter was killed and the comic was canceled before we ever found out what that plan was.

  7. @Other Bob: It's a shame they couldn't have explored the idea on CW's Black Lightning.

  8. Wouldn't it have been funny if these apparent fraternal twins turned out to be sentient figures of green clay?

"Our name be 'GUMBY,' dang it!"

    including you EC homage....
    and another family cover idea....
    Steve Rogers has already found
his uncle Buck (Rogers) so why not in his long nephew Norvill "Shaggy" Rogers of Scooby game????

  11. @jack-el: And then pit them all against a certain Spider-Man villain: "Rogers and Hammerhead."

@Carycomic: Another crossover idea? The Flash vs. Gumby! But who will end up going to the Pokey?

  12. How about Capt. America and Mr. Justice?*

*He was assassinated, as the mortal Prince James of England, by the rebellious Scottish Rogers Clan. So, it would be interesting to see how he'd treat American-born Steve Rogers.
