Presenting Part One of a Two-Part Epic! Will this trio of heroes be enough to take on Mephisto? They'll need to call in another recruit for tomorrow's confrontation, and longtime STF visitors may have an idea as to who...
Batman and the Silver Surfer crossed paths on this blog a couple of times in the past over a decade ago - they first met in 2010 and then starred in a retro tale in 2011...
Make sure you come back tomorrow for the exciting conclusion!
Blue Devil with Ghost Rider! (it's a two for one)
ReplyDeleteWho is the current strongest in Marvel? I would love to see that person take a swing at Mephisto saying "Try me phist'bucko!"
ReplyDelete"Mephisto will become an also-ran.
ReplyDeleteFor not e'en he can defeat Etrigan!"
Nuff said.
Well, one more thing: twelve years. And still no Batman/Catwoman/Aladdin/Jasmine?! Dude, you're killing us. :-|
ReplyDeleteIceman would have worked if the Surfer was busy.
ReplyDeleteI would think that it's fairly clear that the fourth member of this group would be Evel's old buddy Ghost Rider. Besides this being the first time Evel's been on a cover without GR, the two face off against Mephisto way back in #376, which makes the title here quite fitting.
ReplyDeleteI kind of would like to see a return of Rolling Thunder, too. I'm not super-eager for it, but it would be fun.
A completely separate team would include Elvira, Power Girl, Black Cat, Rangiku Matsumoto (Bleach), and Lady Tsunade (Naruto Shippuden). You can probably guess the theme even if you're not familiar with the last two.
And now for something completely different...
ReplyDeletePresenting Catwoman, Cheetah, Hellcat, Black Cat, and Tigra....
The Meow Mix.
Evidently, EK is referring to STF #376. As for Blue Devil? Maybe he can take on Darth Andeddu from the SWEU. All you'd have to do, Ross, is re-colorize Darth Wyrrlok!
ReplyDelete@Bob Greenwade: Orihime Inoue would be better. ;-)
ReplyDelete@Cary: Right figure, wrong costume choice.
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize that Batman already had some run-ins with Mephisto on this blog as well, and it looks like he wasn't able to grab his regular Batcycle here. And even though the Silver Surfer could morph his board into some kind of cosmic low-rider, I don't think hot bikes will be the winning factor in a showdown with Mephisto. Looking back, I now see that Batman and Ghost Rider have crossed paths before, which also gives Evel a connection with the occult world. But what about Daimon Hellstrom or Spawn? This will be a great Saturday morning coming up for sure!
ReplyDelete@Cary: He's alluding to (ahem!) windows of opportunity, dude. ;-)
ReplyDeleteOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
ReplyDeleteHow about Skeletor vs. Galactus?
ReplyDelete@Anon@8:55: That might actually make a decent story title.
ReplyDelete@BG: Punny? Yes. Decent? Highly debatable to more conservative lurkers. ;-)
